I just recently started TRT, 160mg injection into my left arm 1 week ago today, also received an injection of gonadorelin in my belly as well as a vitamin b12 shot all on the same day. Roughly 6 hours after the injection I start having a racing heart 120 at resting, this has been nonstop, BP 147/112 was the highest I’ve seen but it’s fluctuating between 140/95 - 135/80 at times. I know this has caused some anxiety but it’s 100% not normal. Did I just cause irreversible damage to myself or will this wear off, was hoping a week would be enough but still feel the same. Before this I never saw a resting heart rate above 75 and BP has always been good 110/70 ish

This is a sign you're overdosed and things are likely to worsen from here on out.
gonadorelin
Pointless if you have pituitary failure or secondary hypogonadism. Gonadorelin
useless for the majority of men. Gonadorelin might offer benefit to someone with primary hypogonadism.

You should really do your research before, not after taking the plunge into the world of TRT.

I was trying to put on some weight and gain some muscle, talked to a so called Dr about this at the clinic and this is what was recommended to me. Clearly a foolish mistake on my part. I was really hoping I could flush or rid this somehow so far this has been a nightmare.

No amount of testosterone is going compensate for unfavorable genes related to muscle building ability. If you’re a body type is that of an ectomorph, which are tall, skinny and tend to have very fast mechanisms, which is why ectomorphs struggle to put on weight in the first place.

If you didn’t have any typical symptoms of low testosterone, I would stop now if I were you.

I don’t plan on touching the stuff ever again, this has been horrible, it was one single dose. I believe my numbers were 470 for test results and I’m 34 years old, they said my numbers should be in the 800 range. So my body won’t rid itself of this and revert back to normal? I heard some donate blood, would that assist in anyway?

This idea of thinking is a person who has a narrow-minded view. We're not robots, genetics creates variability across the population. AR gene CAG repeats ultimately determines how sensitive to testosterone you are and therefore you hormonal values.

Clearly hyper sensitive to it, I’ve been to the ER for the racing heart rate, they did a number of tests but apparently don’t know what to do. Today is right above a full week, honestly how long can this crap talk to get out of me? I’m not sure my heart can keep racing like this for much longer without damage. I’m waking up in a panic, get almost zero sleep, cannot even walk up my stairs without my HR jumping up to 150-160. I got a full blood panel done recently and everything showed up was healthy, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary or on the high side

I’d say take a step back and relax(yes.. I know…easier said than done). Your probably threw too much at your body at once and are now stuck in your own head. I can’t think of a physiological mechanism that would cause testosterone to result in a racing heart for a week straight. However, B12 injections can cause anxiety and palpitations. Generally that should resolve within a day or two though(but everyone is different). Also, the dose of testosterone you took a week ago should now be around half of what it was when you first took it, and it’ll reduce by 1/2 each week until it clears your body. Again, the testosterone would not act that fast (6 hours), but the B12 would.

Best advice is to do some meditation(if you aren’t familiar with it then find some guided meditation videos on YouTube). Get out of your own head and stop freaking out. Find a competent provider. If you do seek medical treatment make sure to tell them about the b12 injection.

Thanks for the encouragement man, extremely helpful and I agree 100% with getting out of my head and trying to clear this anxiety up. That’s great news that the test is half out of my system more or so. Appreciate the help from you guys it certainly helps calm my nerves which are in overload.

Didn't they prescribe a beta blocker to lower your heart rate?

I sometimes have a high heart rate too and (rarely) when it doesn't go down I take a beta blocker, it works really fast and well. Also has a calming effect. Of course not something to take every day but very good in cases where your heart rate just keeps being high.

Highly recommend you to talk with a doctor about them so you have them just in case.

I have a doc appointment this morning so I’ll be sure to mention that when I go in. My heart was slightly slower last night vs the last week it dropped roughly 10 BPM at resting, I finally was able to get a few hours of sleep 4 to be exact. I’m usually a heavy sleeper and sleep 7-8 hours without waking up. Some nights I’ve got maybe 1-2 hours of sleep since all this started. So odd that when I wake I immediately have a pounding heart and jumps up 30-40 bpm.

Yeah I have a higher heart rate in the morning too.

Update, it’s been 8 days since my injections. I went back to the clinic to get tested again. They were made aware of my symptoms 2 days after I was injected. My levels today were 990 (8 days after). Test level baseline without the injection was 579 just (normal me) the day I was tested originally. Clearly way too high of a dose, 100% not going to continue with TRT. Also went to the doc let them know everything, they checked my blood very thoroughly and found it to be all normal as of today, this matches my labs done just a month or so ago on my routine check up. They scheduled me to see a cardiologist just to be sure, said my ekg was good, heart sounded strong, pulse just slightly elevated they think due to the high test # vs what I’m normally at and possibly bad reaction to b12 shot on top of that some Anxiety. My heart rate has slowed a little, was able to get 4 hours of sleep last night vs almost zero on previous days. The clinic is guessing my test was 1300-1500 on the peak day. My BP is normalizing as of now, not sure if there will be a change from the sudden stop of TRT or if symptoms will come back. They don’t recommend a beta blocker at this point, they gave me a low dose of Xanax .25mg for temp anxiety which I have not taken.

Not a fan of benzos like Xanax and SSRI's, don't take them too long.

I went through similar symptoms after starting trt. I was taking 50 mg test cyp. Twice a week and had horrible anxiety along with high blood pressure and chest pain. I ended up lowering my dose to 35 mg twice a week and feel much better. Everybody’s bodies are different. Some people have to build a tolerance and work there way up.
