Was told not a candidate for TRT.
So, what should I be taking for focus and to clear brain fog if not a candidate for TRT?

Are you on any medications?

How’s your sleep quality? If so maybe it’s time for sleep apnea testing.

A vitamin and mineral panel is probably a good idea.

Statins are known to cause dementia/alzheimers like symptoms, because the brain is made up of cholesterol. Statins can also cause multiple diseases, like type 2 diabetes.

I'm willing to bet this is the cause of your brain fog problem. In the link below a journalist talks about a women in hospice, end of life care, and determined the women's statin use was the cause of her severe mental decline.

After 8 days of stopping the statin, she moved out of hospice and regained her cognitive abilities.

Lipitor's own clinical trials shows statins increase the lifespan of someone who's had a heart attack my 5 days and 3 days for someone who's never had a heart attack!

Not worth all the headaches that comes with statin use! The benefit to side effects ratio is unfavorable.

In my case it was my thyroid that was causing pretty bad brain fog. All my thyroid levels were "within range" but barely. My doctor started me on 25mcg of T3 and the brain fog lifted almost immediately.

What type of Dr did you use and which Thyroid test needs to be obtained?
My T test only shows the single TSH number which is 1.48 (not 5.3 as entered above as I got the numbers mixed up)
 
Even if on the statins for 2-3 years, affects are noticeable when stopped for only a week or so?
In my case, I was going on and off them for about a week at a time and the effects were very noticeable. I don't know if it would take longer to recover if you took them for a few years consistently. If it were me, I would be experimenting with at least a couple weeks off to see how I felt.

When you take a drug long-term, you can lose the ability to notice the ways that it is affecting you negatively, like the way a fish cannot see the water it's swimming in until you take it out.

do u happen to have ur labs prior to starting T3, and ur labs while being on the 25mcg of T3? Would love to see both if u have them
 
@FunkOdyssey is right about statins. They can do very detrimental things within the body, mainly within the brain. I’ve posted this before, but @ 20 mins and 40 seconds in Dr Anthony Chaffee talks about a a study where they took Alzheimer’s patients off of their statins, and within 6 weeks their Alzheimer’s symptoms basically went away. Then they put them back on their statins, and their Alzheimers symptoms came back

"Brain fog" is a very nebulous set of symptoms - what is it, specifically, that you are noticing?
A better description may be like a kid with ADHD.
My mind just can't focus on the current task. Tends to be wandering about a dozen other things. Usually to be able to focus on the current task but seems a lot harder to do.

All this is becoming common knowledge, luckily. Luckily all the misinformation from when doctors were paid off to promote sugar and processed foods, and villainize saturated fat, is being corrected at a rapid rate. Like I’ve said before, the truth always comes to light in the end, it’s just how science works. So it’s just really nice to see that the truth about how foods actually work within the human body is finally spreading, being accepted, and being further researched and investigated.

In the age of people being so closely connected, and constantly sharing their experiences, u just can’t get away with any bullsh*t anymore. If something works, ur gonna hear all about it. If something doesnt work, ur also going to hear all about it. This heavily works in the favor of carnivore/ keto/ carnivore based diet advocates/ studies done on these ways of eating, and heavily works against diets such as a vegan/ vegetarian diet. This is due to the fact that results are really all that matter the end of the day. In vitro studies can be done, studies on animals can be done, they can continue doing flawed epidemiological studies until the cows come home, but all that matters is the real world results people are experiencing.

Carnivore/ a carnivore base with benign carbs, such as fruit and raw honey, will always result in people being in a much healthier state than any other type of way of eating, including eating vegan/ vegetarian. That might be debatable, in theory, but luckily the real world results prove otherwise. And now we’re finally getting more and more studies showing why this is the case. Debating and arguing about which diets or ways of eating are ideal for the human body is mostly a waste of energy and time. We should all be working together to try and figure out what the most ideal foods and ways of eating are, if health/ longevity is 100% the priority above everything else, based on real world results, real world anecdotes, and unflawed study results. U can’t just pick one of those categories to focus on. When trying to figure out what the most ideal foods are for the human body, u have to consider all three of those things, in a collective manner, in order to form an intelligent/ informed opinion on the subject.

If it's an ADHD-like problem, I would highly suggest trying supplements that are calming but not sedating starting with theanine and then trying others such as ashwagandha.
Was taking aswagandha for a while and it made things worse. Further research shows that a negative affect of aswagandha is depression. Stopped taking it and the depression cleared away but still have the brain fog.

Statins are high-risk/low-reward for this exact reason, and if they are the cause of your issues, taking something that promotes focus may be overwhelmed by the statins even if it should otherwise help, so step one is to stop the statins. Doing other cardio-protective things that actually do have major benefits may help your brain function and there is an entire thread on here which you can find by searching for "Heart-healthy actions".

Definitely not.
Even surfing the web, I click a link to read an article and right after don't remember the topic.....Its because I have so much other stuff going on in my brain.
But definitely not anxiety. Just a lot of thoughts and ideas going through my head.
