Osteoarthritis and adding nandrolone to TRT

How do u feel mentally, energy wise, sleep, sexually with the 1:1 ratio of test:deca?

Everything still all good compared to test alone? Energy, sex drive, sleep have all been good since adding the Deca. Really, the only negative change from adding the Deca is higher estrogen and that does increase anxiety some and can make me more emotional at times. I’ve added anastrozole to lower the estrogen, but then joint pain increases negating some of the deca joint pain relief. I started the Deca at 80mg and worked my way up. I’ve even tried over 200mg, but found 200mg is the “sweet spot” for me.

My guess is that the root cause of most joint pain is poor form (lifting, walking, running, etc.) and low-level food allergies that manifest as joint pain, so removing those is, for most people,
For those interested try seeing what a 14-3-3 eta blood test can tell you. Most rheumatologists don't use that test but supposedly highly specific for joint inflammation. Mine has been through the roof while my markers of system inflammation are rock bottom (cRP, ESR, etc.). Some elevated ANA titers but negative for typical RA markers. Rheumatologists I'm sure will have a nice name for it once I am long dead and gone.

I know you said most people but for some good to rule out autoimmune conditions, RA.

We may be saying the same thing here. Many forward-thinking clinicians (e.g. Dr. Yurth) are coming around to the view that osteo-arthritis has an RA-like component which is what I was referring to regarding low-level food allergies. To further confuse matters, RA is often not-really "auto-immune" otherwise the Auto-Immune Paleo protocols would not work, however they appear to work for many people.

Wouldn’t the fact that paleo protocols/ the carnivore diet either drastically improving a person’s RA, or resolving it completely, actually be a sign that RA might stem from the body attacking itself, aka auto-immunity? I’ve seen the carnivore diet resolve pretty much every auto-immune condition there is.

But even if RA doesn’t stem from an auto-immune issue, how to resolve any type of arthritis is the same. So it’s kind of a moot point, imo. Basically trying to say that the same way u resolve any type of arthritis, is the same way u resolve any type of auto immune condition. Put into the body everything that it requires, for optimal health, without putting in anything that messes with it. This will improve insulin sensitivity, which they’re continuing to find is the root cause of almost all chronic conditions, it will decrease chronic inflammation, and again, the body will have all the micronutrients it needs for optimal functioning, without anything being put into it that is going to insult the body, regardless of how minor or severe the insult

Absolutely. Latest data/research would suggest even if osteoarthritis starts as wear and tear or trauma it adopts similar cytokine profile in the joint to RA. Nice color map i posted somewhere. I had a rheumatologist who was stuck in the 1970s. Wouldn't listen to any of this. I'll spare the references as I am trying to keep these posts shorter.

I've suffered with joint pain for much of my adult life, at times severe. I've tested positive for rheumatoid factor, sometimes had a positive ANA and sometimes not. CRP and ESR were never elevated.

I've determined now that it is caused by eating too much carby foods that are not meat (implicates my trash microbiome IMO). I used to think coffee was contributing, but that turned out not to be the case once I dropped fruit intake lower. Coffee is fine if I cap sugar from fruit at around 60-70g daily. Zero joint pain these days, lifting 5x a week with no pain, up and down mountains like a mountain goat. Seems like TRT helped also.

That is an AWESOME result! So glad you have eliminated the joint pain. It sucks.

I haven't had that success. My insane eating plan of eggs/egg whites/sardines/chicken/red meat only just doesn't help the joint pain. I cut out almonds for a while to see if that helped.

Thanks for sharing that. Super pumped for you.

When I first started reading this I was shocked that u were reporting joint pain, out of all people, since I know u do mostly carnivore, but then I continued to read and things made more sense lol. Continuing to learn about how different foods affect the body has been extremely eye opening, to say the least, for me over the years. I’ve mentioned it here before, but even adding seasonings to red meat can be the difference between having ALS symptoms, and being symptom free, for some people. And some people having plain salad is the difference between being depression free, and having severe depression. And I’ve heard many people report that adding too much fruit/ carbs to their carnivore diet brings back a lot of chronic pain for them. So when people report having mood or pain or sleep issues, and say that they’re “eating healthy”, and their issues have nothing to do with diet, it’s extremely difficult for me to not press the issue and try to get them to look into their diet a bit more, as a possible root cause of their issues. But either way, glad to see that u were able to resolve ur chronic joint pain. Living in chronic pain is not a very enjoyable way to live

Chronic pain causes brain damage?
That's my take of the literature. Either that or ... brain damage causes chronic pain. Could probably make a case for that.

Chronic pain seems to accelerate aging of the brain and give one dementia like symptoms over time.

Interesting. The body is more complex than any human could ever even begin to imagine, so I don’t ever count anything out, when it comes to possibilities of what could be occurring within it

Now u got me thinking. I wonder if since a lot of pain issues are caused by chronic inflammation, if the chronic inflammation is what’s causing the brain damage over time. Just a thought
