FINALLY an anti-inflammatory drug protecting against heart attacks and strokes

It's not the cholesterol stupid, it's the inflammation!

Low dose colchicine (an anti-inflammatory drug for Gout) is approved for reducing the risk after heart attack or stroke.

I bet it will help prevent arteriosclerosis which is caused by inflammation from eating too much carbs/sugar.

Is anyone currently taking it?
I have a scrip of 0.6mg. Lipidologist suggested it for reducing hsCRP, the #1 non-specific marker for inflammation, but have been hesitant to start because of some of the side effects, although I suspect it's term and dose-dependent.

You can more safely reduce inflammation and hsCRP by adopting a low carbohydrate diet or at least drop the fast sugars: processed foods, natural fruits, honey, milk These contain glucose, fructose, sucrose (white table sugar), or lactose.

Many years of doing that and more has made zero difference, otherwise wouldn't have to resort to pharma at this point.

What is your hsCRP?

Do you have health conditions that increase CRP, like chronic infections, diabetes etc?

Have you tried full keto or carnivore diets?

hsCRP 2-3. Yes, tried all the diets over the years and nothing seems to move the needle. No known chronic infections, T2D. Only thing I can think of is hypertension which I'm already treating but systolic remains elevated. BP:135-140/70-75. Could also perhaps be gut issues, but that's like looking for a needle in a haystack and have done everything with that as well.

Have you ever stopped drinking raw milk which contains inflammatory lactose?

Carnivore diet is the most eliminating one and many people reverse type 2 diabetes on it. Blood pressure goes down too.

what’s ur diet look like on a daily or semi-daily basis? Guarantee there’s a bunch of foods ur still consuming that could be causing chronic inflammation/ gut issues/ auto-immune reactions. I know people seem to be harping on diet, and it’s probably annoying lol, but the reason me, and others are doing so, is because 99.99% of the time, chronic inflammation stems from what we’re putting in our bodies. I know u think u’ve tried cutting out all foods that u thought could be causing inflammation, with no success, as far as symptom resolution goes, but I’ve heard people say this an endless amount of times, and 99/100 times, they’re still consuming things that they had no idea could cause issues. I’ve seen a salad make the difference between severe depression and no depression. I’ve seen seasonings to a persons red meat only diet be the difference between them having severe MS symptoms, compared to very mild MS symptoms, when not adding seasonings to their meat only diet. I’ve seen coffee be the difference maker for a ton of people. Never underestimate what certain things ur consuming could be doing. Was just listening to a podcast this morning where the person said they are on carnivore now, and all their health issues have resolved, but if they cheat a little, and consume something as “benign” as some walnuts, their joint pain comes back with a vengeance. I know I’ve said it a million times, but when people say they “eat healthy” that means absolutely nothing to me. No offense to anyone obv. And not trying to annoy or offend u either. Genuinely just trying to help

Ok. Now on the raw dairy - I do consume it, however, only cultured (kefir, yogurt) in which the microbes metabolize lactose to lactic acid, leaving virtually no lactose. At least that's what's supposed to happen. It's the milk proteins itself that I am concerned with.

When u refer to being concerned about the milk proteins, are u referring to casein, or whey as well?

Good job with the kefir tho. Raw kefir from grass fed cows is the least insulting way to consume dairy, as far as I know. Would be surprised if this was an issue for u, but everyone’s different, and there’s definitely some people that don’t react well to dairy, even in this form.

You should be careful with fermented foods because the microbes can drive inflammation too, no matter that they are pictured as "good bacteria". If your immune system finds a problem with them, it won't care how "good" they are.

My immune system started recognizing the bacteria in yogurt and I get headaches 1 day after I eat yogurt, or take a probiotic with similar bacteria. Do not assume probiotics are all good for you.

My first entry into alternative health was 40 years ago when the first cytotoxic food allergy tests became available to the public, and since, have taken every food allergy test out there, thus, I am no stranger to food intolerances and sensitivities. I learned about the 4-5 day rotation and elimination diets and then some. I haven't consumed wheat, corn, yeast, soy, and most grains (except rice every now and then) and all processed foods since then. I have given up on IgG testing because 99% of it inconclusive and speculative at best. Classic IgE testing for foods (the well-known peanut and shellfish anaphylactic reactions) and inhalants is the only accepted method by the mainstream, but I exhibit IgE-mediated reactions only to inhalants. But I love my raw, cultured dairy, even though I may be sensitive to the dairy proteins. I have been on a PSMF (high protein, very low carb and fat) diet to recomp which is almost a carnivore diet. I am already seeing the results. It'd be interesting to see where crp is at now.

Delayed IgG4 food sensitivity testing, while not 100% accurate, can help pinpoint those delayed symptoms. I also test for inflammatory cytokines but haven't seen any of them elevated enough to pinpoint a culprit nor have I observed any untoward reactions to foods. That doesn't mean I don't have some type of low-grade chronic immune reaction though. It just means I cannot determine a cultprit like in your case. Wish it were that easy.

Other inflammatory markers are sed rate (ESR) and ferritin. Also test for d-dimer and ANA. In my case, both low normal. Only hsCRP is slightly elevated. Wish it was more specific.

There are many antigenic components to dairy that can affect sensitive people including casein, beta-casomorphins, lactoalbumins, lactoglobulins, etc. Unless one does extensive esoteric testing, one would never know which component.

I've have observed no deleterious reactions to raw fermented dairy even when consumed in large amounts, but I am not sure if one or more components is contributing to some sort of latent, low-grade chronic proinflammatory upregulated immune reaction.

The cheap and low-tech way I learned 40+ years ago is to eliminate the suspected offending food or substance, see if the HR reduces, observe a cessation of symptoms as well as weight loss, and retest the markers. I am on course doing that now.

In general diabetes with poor blood sugar control drives higher inflammation and hsCRP but your A1C doesn't seem high enough to explain your higher hsCRP. Still the A1C is a marker of the average blood sugar, maybe you have higher peaks. Are you on insulin or just metformin?

Again, my guess is hypertension, gut issues, offending food or supplement possibly.

Wow, ur way more on top of things, diet/ health wise, than I originally assumed. So I apologize for that lol. Sounds like ur on a diet very close to what I’d probably recommend, for someone in ur position. Can u make a quick list of foods ur regularly consuming? Now I’m curious what someone with ur knowledge is eating day to day in order to heal themselves. Promise I’m not trying to be judgy or anything lol

And I’ve heard that allergy tests aren’t very reliable. So thanks for ur input on that. Have thought about getting an allergy test done for years now, but now I probably won’t waste my time

Are u doing that with the raw kefir as well, or have u ever done it with the raw kefir?
