I am 78 years old and in good health, a regular gym rat, slim and trim, still working full time as a dentist. My sleep issues started soon after 60 with difficulty going back to sleep after arising in the wee hours to pee. Over the years I've tried various herbal and melatonin combinations, diphenhydramine, also *** in various forms and combinations. The results were variable and short lived.
For your consideration I will offer the combination I have used for the last three years with consistent success. The first is a 10 mg THC Indica capsule. Medical marijuana is legal in Florida. I am not a smoker so I prefer the capsules. The second is an over-the-counter product called Sleep 3, a 10 mg melatonin time release form combined with some of the well known herbal sleep aids. The third is Magtein, a magnesium L-threonate product, the fourth is doxylamine, commonly available as Unisom (I take half a pill).
I take one of each with water 20 minutes before bedtime. When I wake up to pee I feel quite groggy but back in bed I am asleep immediately. At 6:30 I am up with the alarm and after a few splashes of hot water in the face I am alert and good to go, no hangover for me. Coffee and a protein breakfast and I can take on the day, all day.
Of course we are all different and how your body processes various substances may be individual. I am simply sharing what has made a big difference in my sleep experience.
