Well first. I was 300 pounds in
August 2013, hadn't ever been to a gym as an adult (not since high school) and got down to 162.2 pounds September 2014 (I can show pics if I have to). November 2014 started "bulking". Cardio (Hitt mostly, and primary focus at gym has been powerlifting, have competed in a few meets). I struggled with my energy issues THROUGHOUT, slow progress, but like I said after a meet, after helping sister in law move, and anything that was physically demanding I'd be DEAD, not just tired or no energy, freaking dead. NO ERECTIONS for good 2-3 days too. This is why i seeked out HELP! I was working hard, trying my best, but being dead after was happening more and more.
SO, I didnt go to dr because I was a fat ass lazy guy that thought trt was going to be some magic bullet (I NEVER WANTED TRT, hoped that they wouldnt put me on it, of course pcp had no clue why I was having energy issues (May 2014 went and was slightly anemic, told to take muti with iron and if that didnt help next step was testosterone, and I did not trust them with trt because they believed in once a month shots, so thought--3 years after pcp said testosterone was possible issue--"mens clinic should know best and if I have to be on trt they'd know that too").
I gained ~30 pounds within month and a half of starting trt (even with low e2, never understood with water just flowing through me like it was) and like I said I DID NOT miss the gym until TRT (maybe 2-3 times missed in about 3 years, ive varied the number of days, 7 days down to 2 days a week, 3-4 days is my favorite schedule, I'm a welder and physically active at work too (up and down ladders etc...) after, I've missed say close to 40% from 6-17-17 until now!! Erections, sure was having trouble before, especially after physically demanding, but went from say 2 and 3 (2 times every 5 times wouldn't work) to 5 and 0 for 10 months or so. Then went to 50/50 that I could get an erection, however, it was less than 50/50 that I could maintain.
Anyways instead of judging where I am might want to consider where I've been and even am still. Where I was before trt and how it screwed it all up. Does trt help some? Sure bet it does, but it doesn't work for everyone. Do I need to lose more weight (actually for the year I'm down from 275, but was holding lots of water, 256 or so was where weight finally settled) sure, but not going to drop to 1900 calories a day so i can lose weight in 8 weeks or something and end up losing more muscle that I already dont have.
My goal right now is about 1/2 a pound a week, and I'm pretty on. (Might adjust calories down slightly here next couple weeks and thought about doing a super low carb diet for couple weeks (50g or so a day, how I lost before 1950 calories and 50g carbs a day. But dont want to do long term super low carb). Additionally, I'm doing this all in a up hill battle against my apparent opposite effect on drive. I've lost a lot of drive to enjoy or do things (go to gym, sex, and pretty much everything to be honest. In other words, I'm losing weight and fighting to stay healthy without really wanting/feeling like it.
I'm in no way saying trt doesn't work or whatever, it just screwed ME up. And to be honest 2 1/2 years in I wish I would have said HELL no. But guess hine sight is 20/20.
And again, ANYONE that has issues are automatically marked by others and DRs as "there must be something else wrong, trt is perfect and works great for everyone and someone worse after has to be x or _________" instead of listening, taking info and making trt better, its ignored.
