Hi, for some reason my Shgb is in low range 18. Since two years I experiencing low T symptomps. Im considering trt but Im worried about side effects causing by low Shgb and poor respond.. I dont want fuck up things more as I want to have a kid, second thing which stopping me to jump on.
Can you share your experiences, what protocol you using and how do you feel on trt with low Shgb? I read alot of posts where people are strugling because of it. My sugar, fasting insuline, hb1ac, liver everything is ok. No idea why that protein is fuckin low.. I appreciate any information. Regards

You mentioned nothing about total testosterone or free testosterone. Low-T symptoms are nonspecific and could be many other medical conditions. Best to cross your T’s and do your I’s and do more lab testing and if nothing else stands out and your FT is indeed low, TRT is warranted.

Telling you our experiences isn’t going to help you with yours. There’s no way to know how you’ll respond based on someone else’s response androgens as no two people respond the same.

You either start TRT or you don’t.

This view is a bit skewed as mostly people with problems are posting on forums searching for answers to their symptoms or lack of ideal response to therapy.

The large majority of men do not have problems when starting out on TRT.

During two years My TT lowest 320 ng / 540 highest. Its fluctacting, last reading from November show 440. FT: I checked once and it show 17,09 pg/ml. I started testing when I realized that my libido is gone. Shgb always 17-18. Its started after some stressfull time in my life. Since then I feel that its just low, I dont have energy and mood at all. I did all bloodwork and besides low test shgb. Everything looks ok hb1ac 5,1% fasting insuline 6. I ask about low shgb because when you put it in to search on your forum 80% people have elevated E and FT non stable TT and libido issues. So Im yust curious why mine is low and how low Shgb people managaing their trt. Thats it.

when you start TRT your SHBG I would expect it to come down a little bit more. I made my treatment work and these are where I would suggest you start here if your provider is willing.
Estrogen was MY #1 problem for years of every dose and frequency imaginable.
If you can manage your E2 to a number that is close to what your SHBG value is, do it. Don't be afraid of an AI. You shouldn't use Anastrozole jsut because and don't crash and suppress your E to 0, that is bad. The late (RIP) Dr Crisler had made a post about some of his low SHBG guys could tolerate very little E. That statement completely changed by TRT and my provider endorses it (for me). And don't fall in to some trap that low SHBG is symptomatic of scary other diseases like obesity (no one associates high SHBG with scary "diseases").

Normal ranges please.

Is this calculated, or direct FT measurement?

You need to check estrogen!

Your calculated FT is @15.4 ng/dL. You don't have low-T.
So Im yust curious why mine is low
Could be genetics. Not everyone wins the genetic lottery. I find it strange that you're fixating on the SHBG and not the FT.

I believe you're grasping at straws.

Stress can raise cortisol and can cause your symptoms. Your issues may be psychological.

TRT isn't a panacea.
