Asking for TRT help for a friend

Hey everybody, I have a friend over here in New Zealand who I am currently visiting who has expressed interest in obtaining testosterone & possibly anabolic steroids however that is extremely difficult to do here in New Zealand. he did visit a TRT therapist, but he was JUST under the limit or the New Zealand limitation with his levels for getting any type of help . It looks like his main focus would be to initiate some sort of self monitored testosterone replacement therapy or TRT. He has his own personal gym decked out with all of anything you can imagine in a gym and he works out 5 times a week (normal rhythm) type of training Hypertrophy . He is in good shape, but he finds himself always being tired. He is hoping the TRT will allow him to gain more effectiveness in his workouts. Even though his consumption of food is what we would call a healthy diet (explained below) , He only eats at night and finds himself intermittently fasting. Apparently his mate used to use something called trenbolone. I’m sure I’m not spelling that right but either it’s not available anymore or it fell off the radar. My friend is in his early 50s, runs an active farm and is very healthy with the exception of the fact that he just can’t shed some of the weight he has. He’s not classified as being overweight by any health standard by any means, however, he would like to cut the fat and gain more muscle. He also presents 10-12 common symptoms of low T. He often finds himself having to take naps in the afternoon and still being tired when nighttime comes around and so after carefully analyzing and watching him for over a month, I’ve come to the conclusion that this man isn’t just looking for some “juice” to build up his biceps or anything like that I think he genuinely needs help. I also know he has seen at least 5 doctors concerning this and his numbers are right above the level for low testosterone.

The last part of this post is talking about the fact that here in New Zealand anabolic steroids as well as testosterone products are illegal unless they are low-grade testosterone supplements, which don’t really do anything anyway. This means the only way we’re getting anything to him is if we have a proxy buy it for him in another country and then mail it here discreetly. I have contacted several companies directly about shipping here and absolutely none of them will ship it here and after further research, I found out why.

My thought is that if we could get the testosterone into an alternative container that it might just slip through the mail and he would get it. I know there’s a risk there and anyone with information on how to go about doing this, we could sure use the help. That’s why I’m reaching out to you guys, hoping you can recommend something, maybe ask a little bit more questions about what he’s trying to do, and what’s good for him and also for him to get it safely.

I thank you all for keeping this discrete and looking into this and I welcome any feedback and suggestions that I can use to assist helping my friend with his issue.

To be clear, I’m not seeking testosterone. I’m only trying to help a friend who isn’t very tech savvy with finding a resource that will allow him to do this.

Jay

Let's start with his diet with hugely impacts testosterone production. The carnivore diet is a testosterone booster, in fact no diet boosts testosterone more! Getting your body into ketosis has the potential to cure many health problems.

Sleep is very important as this is when our testosterone spikes. So if your friend is working to exhaustion without proper rest, this is a testosterone killer!

Even though his consumption of food is what we would call a healthy diet.
This is too vague, what one person thinks is a healthy diet, may not actually be healthy. Pasta, bread, grains, carbs all convert to sugar, the leading cause of heart disease. All these foods are inflammatory.

I am happy to give any additional information, what is it that you need. Additionally he told me today is has seen 5 doctors, they all tell him his levels are “not low enough” , and to check back in a year or so!

Did a search and these are the first that come up.

But being in the US I obviously don’t have any experience with them. If he already has his mind set on trt not sure why he would waste his time going to five different PCPs instead of just going to a clinic.

First one is all about ED, second one looks more promising , I’ll look into it.

This is what happens when you talk to someone that unqualified and isn’t properly trained in this field of medicine. PCP‘s typically aren’t into hormones, that’s more of the endocrinologist and urologist field of medicine. Even these type of doctors typically fail at properly diagnosing hypogonadism.

Doesn’t matter what country you’re in, the guidelines are outdated and inadequate. There’s so much more than just the absolute hormonal value that matters. The sensitivity at the androgen receptor (CAG repeat length long/short) as well as the abilities for tissues to respond also matter.

I’m not from this country so I can’t speak to their healthcare or what they are or are not qualified and what kind of judgments they are are not qualified to make. I’m just trying to help a friend who lives here. He is born in bread here he’s been here his whole life and he’s trying to get help. I would be lying if I told you I knew what androgen receptor is. If you have any suggestions that would help or anything I should be asking him for additional information to help you give him a suggestion. I would appreciate it.

Ithink what the is confusion is everyone is he’s not not sure how to go about it. First issue is he’s been to many doctors and clinics here in New Zealand, and they all said he’s under the level to qualify. So going on that it’s a matter of finding someone who is knowledgeable about who can provide something safe for him to try and then figuring out how to get it to him safely without any hangups. I’ve been asked on several forums to provide blood test results so people could get a better idea of what he needs. To be honest, I’m not really sure what direction to go so I’m just casting a very wide net across 12 different forums and some of them are just advertising products and not really explaining. the part I get lost is I’m not really into this so I don’t understand any of it so it’s not like I’m just gonna say here go take this pill and everything will be fine because I don’t know that that’s true.

A better question would be how do we help him determine what he needs and where he can find it safely and get it to him!

Did he(or you) reach out to this organization?

this was mentioned, and I have yet to ask him, he said he has been to clinics prior, I’m not sure if this is one of them, I’ll report back.

I seriously doubt your friend has a testosterone problem. No reason why it can't be something else. There's ton of other conditions that can mimic low-T.

So now the question remains, what could be causing these symptoms
It could be 100 different things. Then you have idiopathic diseases, which have no identifiable cause, yet symptoms remain.

Doctors and scientists are discovering new diseases all the time. Little more than a year ago they discovered a new disease, a parathyroid disease (Normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism) where calcium levels are normal, but calcium in the urine is very high.

The more lab testing you do the higher chance you finding something.
