I started daily injections a few weeks back due to low SHBG. I was previously on EOD. I now preload my insulin syringes for the week and do SubQ. It literally takes seconds and is much easier then trying to make a habit out of an EOD protocol! Have not yet run the labs to gage the improvement...
It doesn't mention the particle size of the LDL or other cholesterol numbers?
Were these people eating an otherwise healthy diet? I'm sure just adding coconut oil (or any additional food/calories) to a typical, crappy modern diet would be detrimental. As Will said it's likely a mistake to think...
I wouldn't think you could see a hiatal hernia externally?? If you see a bulge during sit-ups it is likely what is called diastasis recti. This is a separation of the abs down the centre-line. There is some info at the link below...
Thank you CW! Your guidance and success on daily injections was what prompted my changing based on the above results.
If you don't mind, do you have any input about the thyroid results? From my understanding they seem good but i don't know what the high (albeit slightly over range) Reverse T3...
I was travelling to the USA and planned to get the sensitive Estradiol test through Discounted Labs/Labcorp as it is not available in Canada. I though it would be a good opportunity to compare the results between Labcorp and Life Labs (Canadian). So while I was at it I also got TT, FT and SHBG...
I had also kept hearing that SHBG-bound T was permanently bound and unusable. I was having a hard time understanding why, if that is the case, that we would even care about Total T instead of just Free T. This still makes me wonder why someone with low SHBG wouldn't still benefit from the higher...
Sean I did have my SHBG tested once and it was 11.6 mol/l with a ref range of 10 - 30. At that time i was doing well on weekly injections. I will be testing again in a couple weeks. It seems there are as many (or more) people on this forum who are dealing with low SHBG although I may be paying...
All good points guys!
Yes CW I would greatly appreciate the study!
Regarding my TRT doctor, I will admit she is not the most experienced in male TRT, but she is relatively knowledgable and has some male clients (including a family member) but many more female HRT clients. She is however very...
I am also wondering if high FT with moderate TT could be caused by hypoalbuminemia?
Could it be that someone who's albumin is low, could have higher FT because some of what would have been albumin bound is now free instead?
Thanks VC and CW!
I am thinking that in the case of people with low SHBG (as I assume I am and will know in a couple weeks) that maybe the free test number is all I should worry about? I have had barely mid-range TT with FT that was "over-range" granted that was using Canadian LifeLabs tests...
Thank you Vince!
CW yes I understand/appreciate Vince Carter's comments and accept them as fact however since I am doing essentially "trial and error" i thought it best to at least start where some others have been successful.
I appreciate everyones input!
Thanks Ero!
In my case it seems that my SHBG, which I know was at the lower end of the range back when I was having good numbers with weekly injections, has declined. I will be confirming that in a couple weeks.
If it is now lower I have to assume it is as a result of TRT and I am doing EOD...
That is the reason for my question ....if a large amount of Test is bound to SHBG, and therefor unusable, why do total Test numbers matter/mean anything? It seems that the unusable amount should be irrelevant?
Although I realize our bodies don't do anything that is irrelevant? Is there an aspect...
Thanks Vince Carter. I realize there is a lot of reading here and I do read/search a lot of information but it sometimes serves to create more questions than it answers.
I guess I'm really just asking if someone knows if there is a minimum effective threshold for HCG?
And I am hoping for some...
What frequency of injection is common for people when doing daily test injections?
I am currently doing 44mg test and 280u EOD but due to assumed (soon to be verified) low/decreasing SHBG I am considering daily test injections. I am not sure if i should do the HCG daily as well?
Does HCG have...
Can someone help me to understand these relationships?
It "seems" that Free Testosterone and Albumin-bound testosterone are bioavailable and constitute the useful portion of our Total Testosterone.
It also "seems" that Testosterone bound to SHBG is unusable/unavailable.
With this in mind if...
Thank you CW. It has a been a long day.... I stated my Prolactin levels instead of my SHBG results. (I had the two mixed up in the past and apparently old habits die hard) How can I edit my post?
I did test my SHBG in Nov. 2012 and it was;
11.6 nmol/L RANGE: 10 - 30 (I believe that equates...
I have been on TRT for over 4 years with generally good results. It does seem that I have to keep tweaking my protocol to maintain good levels of hormones and feel good. It also seems that I feel best in the first weeks that I am adapting to a change in protocol. All the following tests were...
Yes I'm assuming its a placebo effect, although this is day 3 with increased energy? Ive never really noticed any sluggishness after meals (except for the odd time back when I would eat a heavy pasta meal) so I've noticed no difference there.
Placebo effect or not.... I'll take it!
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I started taking 500mg 2x/day yesterday. I have had a noticeable increase in energy for the past 2 days. Is this a co-incidence or did anyone else experience this?
I have noticed no side-effects or stomach upset so far (Although I do realize its pretty early...
Wow thanks Nelson!.....that will keep me busy for a while.
This may be in the articles Nelson posted above... but does anyone know of any inherent issues with taking Met for a period of time and then stopping?
I realize that at the minimum your body will return to functioning the way it did...
Thanks Nelson I appreciate the response! Can I ask how long you have been taking it?
The feedback about improved IBS is good news also as I have had bouts of IBS on and off over most of my life. Although mine has been fairly mild compared to many people and largely tied to stress. I do also...
