If you felt like hell for the many months that you were tapering how did you know when to stop? Did the symptoms finally go away when you reached that dose? and how long did you wait before you knew not to go lower?
I've tried many different protocols, once a day, twice a day, and a range of doses. After getting no symptom relief on any of it I'm heading in the exact same direction as Vince Carter. I only have 100mg/ml cream right now so I'll be trying 25mg once in the AM and see how I feel. I put very...
I'm wondering if there is a saturation limit to the amount that can be absorbed per sq. in. of skin area. I'm hearing some of these doses that seen way to high and wonder if they could get the same results on a much lower dose.
I also wonder how much difference the method of application makes...
How do you define "need"?
What are "decent levels" and "average, healthy levels?
Personally, if I time the blood draw just right, I've measured a peak of over 1500 after applying 1/2ml of 200mg/ml cream. However if I measure +/-1hour from the peak my levels are several hundred points lower...
This study backs up that idea.
Serum levels of sex hormone‐binding globulin (SHBG) are not associated with lower levels of non‐SHBG‐bound testosterone in male newborns and healthy adult men
This paper seems to say that lower SHBG results in higher apparent testosterone metabolic clearance rates.

I also only get libido when levels are rising from a very low level. I've found that if I'm using cream only I need to take about 1 week off before resuming in order to get a libido boost. With injections it is much longer, 2-3 weeks off. During the off period my total T drops to around 200...
Where are you getting that idea from? I tried transcrotal cream with and without concurrent injections for several years and never got a boost in libido from it.
My experience exactly.
I've read about guys on other forums who do take breaks from TRT when the subjective benefits wear off.
Of course the guys who do well on a steady state protocol will all chime in and say what a dumb idea it is, but I have never found a steady state protocol that...
@sh1973 when you were using compounded test. cyp., were you getting it in grapeseed oil or sesame seed oil?
I've also never felt as well on compounded test. cyp. as I did on generic test. cyp. in cottonseed oil.

I only ever feel a benefit from TRT during transitions, and also have been trying to figure out why for years. I can also attest that the experts in the field really don't know why either.
Curious why you think so? Lack of improved libido seems to be the biggest complaint of guys who feel they aren't getting subjective benefits form TRT, myself included.

I've had everything checked multiple times by some of the top TRT docs in the field. Are some of the labs off? Yes. Does treatment help? Nothing that I've tried so far.
Yes, that is very close to the protocol I'm currently on. Injecting 25mg test. cyp. twice per week and applying cream daily. Last labs 2 hours after applying cream had my TT at about 800 and E2 at 25, FreeT was tested using the wrong method (EIA) so I don't trust the value, but I've been at this...
I had a severe negative reaction to the meds and had to discontinue use.
I am not arguing against their policy here I completely understand and agree with it, it is what I signed up for, all I'm saying is that if you did get any money back consider yourself lucky.
I always took them at their word when they say all sales are final and no refunds on medications, so I've eaten about $200 in unused med costs over the past couple of years. My bad.
