This is awesome for those patients in the Tampa area. I just read about this in their latest newsletter and I'm feeling pretty jealous! In my area, if you cannot donate (like me), it's going to cost $150 or more! Shameful. I wish somebody would develop a service that sells you (cheaply) the bloodletting gear you need to do it at home and then contracts with labs or something to take the disposal for a fee...gotta be more cost effective than $150 plus.

Defy Medical Offers Therapeutic Phlebotomy at our Tampa ClinicFor $75 you will receive:
• Hematocrit test administered before treatment- Immediate results • Blood pressure and examination before and after treatment • Therapeutic Phlebotomy performed by our Registered Nurse • Q&A discussion during treatment with experienced clinician • No wait time • One-on-one care during treatment • Appointment Reminders when routine treatments are needed • Average time for treatment: 1 hour

Actually I went to OneBlood with a prescription or at least some kind of paperwork from Dr. Chrisler and it was $31. I don't know if OneBlood is all over or not.

Yes, One Blood (and a few others around the US) have great prices for the therapeutic phlebotomy, most likely as they do a high volume and therefore get a better cost on the kits needed to perform the therapy. Defy will work to get the price down as the patient volume increases. Its also nice because there is little to no wait, and in a private setting (with TV, drinks, and time with the medic or RN). I have been doing a phlebotomy every few months followed by a 500ml IV bag full of vitamins and amino acids, I feel great for days after.

Might be worth the drive from Orlando.
