Zero libido

Couple things off the top of my head.

Pregnenolone has historically jacked up my libido to insane levels. 10mg/day compounded pharma (Empower) slow release. Sounds like you're in the UK if your doc suggested Proviron, so I don't know where you'd get pharma Pregnenolone, but OTC might not be the same strength or dosage ultimately.

Using Test Prop also jacks up my libido and erection quality to ridiculous levels; my dick is harder than when I was 16yo. Unfortunately it also skews my T:E ratio way too much in favor of E2 and I start getting headaches and higher BP even on 15mg/day.

Given your relatively speaking low E2 levels, maybe Prop would work for you. Higher libido on Prop is far from uncommon. I was only on that protocol for 3 months or so, but my libido was consistently high the whole time. Confidence and mood were also great.

I have used them and no problems other than it could/may trash lipids - had an increase in bad LDL & lower HDL - have been using Proviron as well so I have eliminated both to get my lipids on track.

Good luck

Your estrogen is low (16.8 pg/mL), in relation to your testosterone.

There’s your libido problem!

HCG doesn’t always produce desired results.

“[F]or the first time, we demonstrated conclusively that the conversion of testosterone to estrogen in the brain is critical to maintain full sexual activity or desire in males. Aromatase drives that.”

This is a most informative abstract. Thanks for posting it.

Though a portion of exogenous T aromatizes, in the studies, both with mice and humans, supplemental estradiol was added to the protocols. When we have labs drawn and E2 is measured, what's reflected in serum, I presume, doesn't correlate with the level of E2 in the hypothalamus or the brain, in general. How much E2 conversion occurring in the brain is unknown? Could there be low aromatase activity in the brain?

If a man injects 100 mg of T and his E2(sensitive) is 40, but poor erectile function after 12 weeks on that protocol, would that call for a dose increase or, perhaps, the addition of .25 to 1 mg of estradiol as opposed to adding an ai on the presumption that E2 'needs' to be lowered? Unless someone is doing UGL or cooking their own and running high dosing,(>250 mg) most doctors won't prescribe more than 200 mg, weekly, presuming that more T would equate with higher E2 and improved sexual function.

I'm trying to understand this in the context of having been on various dosing & injection frequencies over the course of 10 years. We know there are men who robustly convert T to E2. For some it causes problems, while for other men, it greatly improves their libido and erectile function to the point, for some, that it becomes problematic, though I'd like to have that 'problem', again.

GREAT! He has been driving a truck for almost a year at the same place. He has gotten a couple of performance raises and his attitude is fantastic. The depression seems to be gone. He even bought his mother a birthday present for the first time in his life. Mostly he never even remembered. Its been a complete turnaround for him.

That's beautiful, man! You and your wife did a great job pulling him out of the hole he was in.

if u had to put a number on it, what percentage of these improvements in his mood and attitude have come from TRT? I know it’s impossible to know for sure, but jc what ur personal take is

50%, once you can get the T levels to normal, lots of the negative emotional issues that were holding him back went away, then it starts a snowball effect. Being able to then go out and earn a good living did the rest. He has had the same girlfriend for just over a year and seems to be happy. He is still living with us so he has very few expenses and is making just over $100,000/year. He is managing to save it all. His depression was definitely caused by the low T.

This is all so awesome to hear. I feel so bad for all the guys still out there with low T, that have no idea that how they feel could be due to a hormone deficiency. Having low T can make everything in life a million times harder. It’s like trying to walk up a hill wearing a 100lb backpack. Just everything is so much harder and more overwhelming when u have low T. Plus it can just make u the absolute worst version of urself, which can negatively affect every relationship in ur life

but the great thing is that what can happen when u correct the test deficiency, u can turn back into the best version of urself, and everything gets so much easier, and like u said, things can start to snowball, and before u know it uve got ur old life back, and then some, hopefully. Obv TRT doesn’t work like this for everyone, unfortunately, but I think most of the time it can turn a guy back into the version of themselves that they lost when they suffered with low T, and allow them to rebuild their life, and hopefully continue to improve it

HRT definitely turned me back into the person that I was prior to having low T. Still have some brain fog and fatigue, but other than that it keeps me nice and positive and motivated and allows me to recover the way I need to, to keep up with having a family, and the gym, and working a ton. Just got back from vaca and Disney, and everyone was getting so tired walking around the parks, and was wiped after a day or two. I could walk all day without any issues, and the next morning I was ready to do it all over again. And I felt as good on the last day there as I did when we got there. If I had low T, or even lowish T, while on that vaca, I would have been so fcked lol. I would have been miserable, and probably dead after a few days walking around the parks
