For what purpose at all would they have me wait 8 weeks for another FSH test?

I really have no idea. Truly...no idea.

Just received an update from my VA Notes....

Endo says: "FSH is isolated. Low FSH with one low testosterone, but 2 WNL levels would recommend repeat fsh level in 8 weeks please forward me labs No treatment for now"

My test levels have been 351.....251........304

They are hoping you'll slip just into the "normal" range and you can be sent on your way. I'm very sorry you're dealing with this. It's another instance of ill-informed doctors doing harm to a patient. We can offer you private care suggestions.

Major Medical Insurance is no better than the VA when it comes to harmone treatment for men. PCP don't get it and endo and urologists are too wraped up in cancers. That's where the money is for them.

1st and foremost you need to find out if your balls are broke or your pituitary gland is jacked up. The right blood tests will tell you that.

I recently had a blood test performed at the VA and here are my results:
% Free Testosterone= 3.13%
Testosterone (FR)= 10.99ng/dl
Testosterone Total= 351
Blood drawn at 1030am

I am a 25 year old active male, Marine Corps veteran.

symptoms include:
reduced libido
lack of energy
decrease in strength and performance
decrease in muscle mass
loss of enjoyment
depression
anxiety
angry
lethargic
cant sleep at all or sleep all day depending on the day
constantly tired and fatigued throughout every day

I am very interested in hearing opinions on whether or not you think this is low T.

Be warned, the VA is very hit or miss with getting any treatment, much less proper treatement for Low T, with miss being most likely. Symptoms are classic low T, but lot other things can cause those symptoms, which brings us to:

TSH (LAB) 3.34 IU/mL 0.35-5.

Most docs not aware, but the Endocrine Society recommends a cut off at 2. I'd recommend a full thyroid panel also. Considering your age, your T levels are lower than I'd expect yes. Did you experience any TBI?

SOC is usually three tests for T to diagnose low T. The FSH alone, makes no sense.

Too funny. Sorry for you man. Maybe you can go on your own. I pay about $55 for a 10 ml bottle at Walgreens cash price. Lasts at least 2 months. Just need a doctor script. My regular doctor does it and works with me on the numbers - might look for a cash doctor in your area and go in with your blood work and let him know you will stay on top of it with Discount Labs and their labs and go in with a plan of a low starting dose and what to monitor.
