Menopause...My Wife’s Questions

My wife just hit 50, and is fed up with her menopausal symptoms. Her primary physician is worthless, so I got her an appt with a female FNP who supposedly has much experience in HRT for women. Now, I know what questions to ask a physician concerning male HRT, but haven't a clue what my wife should ask concerning women's HRT, you know, to test the FNP's level of competence. Any help?

All women over 40 should be on progesterone, it balances their estrogen. I can't tell you how many times I've heard how said doctor or clinic specializes in HRT only to find out they are clueless.

There aren't many sick care doctors that are exceptional at hormone therapies. The private specialists almost always are more competent as insurance companies tend to get in the way limiting the quality of care. Often important testing is skipped to lack of knowledge and or to keep the insurance companies happy and doctors out of trouble.

If you find it difficult locating a competent doctor, we may be able to assist you in finding a knowledgeable specialists.
