Immune system and Low T

I am coming off of pellets and waiting for my consult from defy medical. In the mean time my free T and estradiol have plummeted. Now I have just been diagnosed with Shingles. Does coming off of TRT weaken ones immune system? In my case allowing the shingles virus to rear its ugly head. Has anyone
contracted any sickness or been more prone to sickness when coming off TRT? I suspect that is the case. Just curious about others experiences. In the past I could count the number of times I have been to the doctor due to illness on one hand.

That is an interesting question.

I am honestly not sure how to answer it, I do believe higher testosterone has a negative effect on immunity though. The timing could be coincidental, or it could be due to the stress and anxiety of having low testosterone and low estradiol.

I'd bet more on simple coincidence.

Three years ago an interesting study was published that confirmed that higher levels of testosterone lowered the immune system's response to vaccinations. I believe we reported on this, but I've pulled the full-text of the study and attached it above.
