Do your 5ml vials of T supply you with the correct number of shots?

I'm nearing the end of my first 5 ml vial/bottle of T enanthate; mine is still the Delatestryl. It looks like I'm going to get about 800mg from the bottle, when the bottle says I should have 1000mgs. Please assume my math is correct (which it is). I take a small dose every 4th morning (34 mgs), so I go into the vial more often than the doctor-suggested once per week. I use the SOL M syringe (which has the dead space filler/plunger to use less medicine) with the Luer Lock; I draw with a 1 inch 20g and then inject with a 1 inch 25g. Has anybody experienced that the vial sometimes contains less than the stated volumes? I know that the doctor in question will likely believe that I'm injecting more than I should, which simply wouldn't be true . . .

Could it be possible that my more frequent small drawings with my Luer lock needle setup could waste 200mg's? (Maybe . . . Madman suggested to me once that a fixed needle has less waste). Or has anybody experienced that the vial sometimes contains less than the stated volumes? We love trick questions:)
Do you measure in mg or mL?

Well, I inject 34 mgs every 4 days (mornings), which is .17 ml. (yes, it's a small dose). Each vial at 5ml holds 1000mgs, and should give me 29.4 doses (1000mg/34), and the math check is that 29.4 x .17ml is 5ml, the size of the vial. No mistake.

It must be waste lost every time I inject, especially since I'm injecting more often with the small dose.

Is there a certain needle that would be better (ie waste less) if I want to go IM in the quads?

I took this T for a period some years ago and had an old expired and unopened 5 ml vial available. I decided to drain it with a 20g needle and measure the contents. I withdrew about 5.4 ml; as Madman mentioned to me once, vials are overfilled slightly to compensate for injection loss. So I don't think the vial was underfilled.

It must be waste lost every time I inject, especially since I'm injecting more often with the small dose. But as mentioned, from my first bottle I'll get about 23-24 injections (800mg) instead of what should be the 29-30 doses.

For anybody still reading this tiresome entry, is there a certain needle that would be better (ie waste less) if I want to go IM in the quads?
After you draw with your 20g needle, do you pull back and make sure any medicine in the needle is pulled into the syringe? That could explain some loss. But as you noted, there is generally a little extra in the vials to account for loss, so I would be extremely surprised to hear you are losing over 20% from the vial due to loss in needles. Is this a recurring thing, or has it only happened with this particular vial?

Hello Phil, thanks for reading the thread. I started injecting in April, this is my first complete vial. Yes, I do pull back so there is nothing left in the 20g needle, draining it all back into the syringe. Really, it's very odd. I wonder if it would be better if I switched to a 5/8" 25g needle and then used that single needle to both draw and inject? I've been riding my bike a lot since starting, have lost some weight, and my legs are much leaner than they were. 5/8" long should be OK to get into the quad muscle.

Well, after reading up on some of the posts, the suggestion is that we minimize waste by using a LDS fixed needle 27g x 5/8" (or 1/2") on a 1 ml syringe, and that I draw and inject with the same needle. Frankly, I tried to draw a few times with the 25g and it got on my nerves, I can't imagine drawing with a 27g. I'm using enanthate IM; the enanthate uses sesame oil - is that too thick for the 27g? And the 27g is pretty thin, any chance that it could break when injecting in quads?
