Anxiety from Kyzatrex?

Its been nearly a week since I got the okay from my provider to double my Kyzatrex dose from 200mg twice a day to 400mg twice a day.

Ever since, I've noticed anxiety creeping in, usually in the evenings. I take my second dose at around 2pm.

Has anyone else experienced this when changing dosages of Kyzatrex? I'm wondering if the more extreme peaks and troughs may be a little rough on my system.

Obviously its only been a week, so I'll be continuing on and giving it more time, just curious if others have experienced this.

Yes.

I do well with Free T at around 20 pg/ml, even am OK around 15, and maintained this over the long term with low dose injections. Went to Kyzatrex due to long term erythrocytosis and low ferritin due to phlebotomies.

I was also started on 200mg BID and free T hit 39 at peak. I felt anxious, irritable, and over stimulated. Dose reduced to 100mg BID and I am feeling well. Labs next week...

This might be an understatement and very obvious, based on your symptoms, but you're likely overmedicated.

The solution to your problem is an easy one, lower the dosage. It's common for guys to start out on a dosage that's too high.

You never mentioned these issues when on the lower dosage, only when you upped the dosage.

I would also recommend 12 hours inbetween dosing.

11:00 minute mark. This is how my Dr prescribed Kyzatrex for me as well. It works well.

If you're feeling anxiety, it could be the result of the low or slow MAO-A gene, which can result in an imbalance of serotonin to dopamine. Basically serotonin is too high. If that is a factor then the solution could actually be to use whatever exogenous T you are using in a MORE in pulsatile fashion.
Not medical advice, but if you're feeling the anxiety peak and take a benadryl or cyproheptadine and get immediate relief, then that might be a suggestion it is too high of serotonin. Those antihistamines are serotonin antagonists.

Thanks everyone. My life did get more stressful right about the time I increased the dose but there does seem to be a correlation.

I would also recommend 12 hours inbetween dosing.

I felt like 12 hours was giving me too much energy when trying to sleep. I'll be dropping to 100mg twice daily tomorrow and will try the 12 hour window again.

As you would know the standard starting dose is 200 mg BID (am/pm) 12 hrs apart mind you some are dosing am/early afternoon to take advantage of 2 peaks earlier in the day.

Of course once steady-state is achieved one would need to have blood work done to see where said dose has their peak (4 hrs post-dose) TT and more importantly FT level.

If you are one who does not respond well and achieves a subpar peak FT than it makes sense to increase the dose.

If you are one who responds well by achieving a healthy/high enough peak FT than you would need to give the protocol time to gauge whether it was a success or failure.

A lot of the providers in the know are finding that a fair amount of men need the higher-end dose 300-400 mg BID in order to achieve a high enough peak FT.

Not sure what peak FT you were hitting on your starting protocol as you never posted labs but chances are you were not achieving a high enough peak FT.

Your dose was doubled 200--->400 mg BID instead of 200--->300 mg BID so chances are your peak FT is high/very high and top it off that you are dosing am than again around 2 pm so you are going to be hitting 2 peaks earlier throughout the day.

If your second dose was taken around 2pm than you would be hitting peak around 6pm which can easily make some feel amped up or anxious as testosterone has a tonic effect on the CNS.

You have already reached steady-state on your new dose so you will need to have blood work done to see where your peak FT sits!

May very well end up being too high!

You have likely implemented a change already, but I was thinking of splitting the difference, 200mg Am and 100mg Pm

5 years ago when I was on Bi-Test injectable I was experiencing insane anxiety for some reason and quit trt.
I wish I had heard this antihistamine serotonin modulating hack then to see it it helped.
The clinic offered me Nandrolone to help with anxiety, and I realized they were not the right clinic for me and just drug dealers not Drs
3 months ago I started TRT again with compounded cream and no anxiety even with Total T levels in excess of 1500 total and e2 at 95 during the peak
Im confused, but I do have a much higher SHBG now with diet changes and im not fat anymore....
