I would test first before you decrease your dose. Perhaps the 20mg are working well and levels are not too high.
The usual dose of oral progesterone for men is 5/10mg, I'm sure some may need more, or less. I believe there is a U shape curve with pretty much anything, Progesterone helps with...
low cortisol/aldosterone did not affect TRT for me. But TRT can certainly exacerbate an existing adrenal/thyroid issue, especially when supraphysiologic doses are used for long period of time.
Pregnenolone-S has a half life of 16/8 hr, so it may not make sense to take it once per week unless a bigger dose is taken. A smaller dose like 25/50mg daily makes more sense to me.
Ok, adrenal heath is the foundation of HRT, if you are low in adrenal hormones other things won’t work well. Test also the aldosterone, low aldosterone may cause racing heart as well. Low cartisol can promote higher levels of adrenaline which can cause increased heart rate at times. But some...
If you have history of TBI you definitely want to test Pregnenolone, Progesterone, DHEA, cortisol, IGF-1, on top of Testosterone and Thyroid. 200mg test per week may make you feel good in the short term, but it may also create more problem with the brain later on. Starting at 100mg in divided...
Abstract
Tryptophan administration was used to evaluate the possibility that serotonergic neurons are involved in regulating the release of cortisol, renin, and aldosterone. Eleven studies were undertaken using 2 or 10 g tryptophan administered to fasting patients in continued supine posture...
That’s interesting to see how many have reported building tolerance to it plus addiction. A doc in the HRT space a couple of years ago RX it to me and said there was no addiction to it, good thing I use it once in a while
do you believe you have less issues with smaller Test dosages like the 42mg per week? are you monitoring also Pregnenolone/Progesterone/DHEA/Cortisol/Thyroid? what type of diet are you eating?
@Cataceous I was reading some comments of yours in another thread. It was mentioned that considering the physiologic testosterone production, because naturally Testosterone fluctuates during the day, when on TRT we should account for a 20 to 30% more. why is that?
I have seen @Cataceous writing this over and over, but recently watched a couple of videos were it was also mentioned how much testosterone a man naturally produce. High HCT? acne? water retention? anxiety/restless, they may be all side effects of supraphysiologic Test dosing.
Andrew...
we both take 1 grain in the am and 1 grain at about 3/4PM, blood was drawn at about 10 am.
My GF does not show any hyper symptoms at all. She can now tolerate the cold, doesn't feel sleepy in the PM and sleep better at night.
My self, i started to feel much less cold hands feet at the 4 weeks...
I was surprised to see these results, as based on Stop The Thyroid Madness, I really thought optimal would be achieved with over two grains.
I wasn’t able to hold the dose for a full month before labs due to traveling, but actually a bit less than 4 weeks. My GF also on the same dose, but held...
I’m not sure Pharmacies can still compound NDT, I think there is some new regulation about it. What I meant is that, they can coumpaund a synthetic T4/T3 with same NDT ratio.
Compounding pharmacies like Empower, can compound the equivalent of a NDT grain in a T4/T3 combo. I’m wondering if they can compound also T2/T1 and calcitonin with it.
Pregnenolone in order to convert to Progesterone/allopregnenolone needs to make the first pass in the liver. If you search in the forum under Pregnenolone, you will find the studies plus a discussion about it.
Beside the sleep, have you experienced increased anxiety and memory loss as well after TRT? I’m sure you know oral micronized Pregnenolone converts into Progesterone.
