I don't process myself, but I normally get 4 or 5 whitetails each year providing us quite a bit of meat for the year. I lack the space to cool/process the deer myself. My wife won't let me use the dining room table

. But I know this meat doesn't have any steroid hormone drugs in them.
I can't tell you how many people I've fed venison to and they had no idea. Doesn't matter if I cut steaks from the backstrap, hamburger, or roast. If you take care of the deer immediately after taking the deer you'll have good meat that is not gamey.
I have thought about getting a grinder so I can make my own sausage from the venison. I've had some good sausage from different processors, but normally it's under spiced.
Unfortunately, I'm sure we still get plenty steroids in other foods; chicken, turkey, milk, cheese, eggs, and etc.
