Would a 5/8 insulin needle be ok for deltoid injections?

I'm a fairly lean guy, and would like to try some other injections sites other than the glutes. Would a 5/8 insulin needle go deep enough to penetrate the muscle? Or would it likely be more of a subQ administration with such a short needle?

Too shallow, that's a SQ size pin.

Need a 1" for IM.

Thanks. I went ahead and tried it for my last injection and it definitely seemed to be more a subQ shot. It was easy as hell though, so I wouldn't rule it out if I was in a bind.

I use 25g 5/8" for IM in my quads, it works great. Haven't tried the delt yet but I plan to. I am very lean though.

If you are relatively lean a 5/8" may even be considered a "hybrid" IM/SC injection. I am now using this same needle to administer Cyp/HCG combo twice per week. I like it a lot better than once per week IM with a longer needle! I am going to post my labs shortly
