Whey Protein Causes Stomach Bloat

I am in need of some advice, or perhaps a way to avoid stomach bloat from whey protein.

I have used whey for years with no problems, but lately it seems to make my stomach larger after ingesting it. Its the same product I have used for quite a while. No real indigestion issues, just stomach bloat. I am considering taking a specific dairy enzyme before drinking my shake to see if that helps.

I have looked into vegetable protein, but the research I have done indicates it isn't as bioavailable as whey protein.

Any thoughts?

Can u link the whey ur using?

I use unflavored grassfed whey. Only ingredient is grassfed whey concentrate. Never feel bloated from it. And I can’t see why straight whey concentrate from grassfed cows would make anyone feel bloated. My money is on the bloating coming from whatever else is in ur whey. They’re not all created equal. Just like most people with “lactose intolerance“ can handle grassfed raw unpasteurized milk without any issues, but will have a ton of issues drinking commercialized pasteurized and homogenized milk from cows that are fed grains their whole life

How about egg protein.

This is what I use:

Thanks for the tip, I may give this a try. It looks like the protein content is about the same as whey.

This is what I use:

Ya I used this brand for years when I was younger and didn’t know as much about health and how the body works. I know the ingredients list doesn’t seem that long, and the ingredients appear fairly benign, but there’s multiple ingredients in there that could easily cause digestive issues for some that ingest it

i would personally try out an unflavored grassfed whey concentrate, if I were u. Im confident u won’t have any bloating or digestive issues while using it. Don’t think egg white protein has as good of an amino acid profile, but could be a decent option if unflavored grassfed whey concentrate doesn’t agree with u
