We must be careful with the ingestion of pharmaceutical products because we solve a problem, but we generate another.

This is my first post . I have been on Bystolic for 3 years and I have had success in seeing my BP decline but it has effected my ED . I was diagnosed with AFIB 10 months ago so Dr has me on ELIQUIS ( blood thinner ) I wish there was something I could do about the blood thinner but Dr says too risky for stroke if I got off of it . Can anyone relate to my problem ? Btw I am 73 years old and it seems in the last 12 months every thing has come crumbling down . As they say growing old is not for sissies .
Hmm
Just saw this thread...
A-FIB - Yep
Blood thinner - Yep... BUT with a story...
FYI
2 "Jump Starts" and an ablation later and I still have A-FIB.
I am on "rat poison" warfarin..
Have to do simple "finger poke" blood test from time to time to ck levels.
Cheap.....
Now the "Paul Harvey"...
My cardiologist is GREAT..... Sharp... Knows what he is doing..... Been seeing him for years....
He ALSO has A-FIB.....
And guess what blood thinner he is on...
"Rat poison"
Hmmmmmm
He reads all the studies.... Knows his shit..... But is "Old school" on blood thinners....
I figure he knows more than I and if he is still on "old school' blood thinners there must be a reason....
You do need to monitor warfarin, but cost is almost nothing and it has worked well for years and years, and years.
It works well for me!
It works well for my cardiologist...
My 2 cents :)
