What does low shbg actually mean ?

wanted to start this thread going again - I have low SHBG too (13- 18 nM/L) but TRT has been very effective for me. No libido loss, morning erections, but I do take low dose ED cialis. my protocol works for me and is as follows - 0.32 ml testosterone cypionate with about 0.1 ml HCG subQ every three days. anastrozole 2x a week (Wednesday and Sunday) (0.5 mg) My total testosterone is always about 700-800 ng/dl, free test 28 pg/ml, Estradiol 19-25 pg/ml. I donate blood every 2 or three months to keep hematocrit under control. after donation I supplement with iron or I'll be short of breath for about a week.

Brain works great for a 54 year old. mood is always good too. sleep could be better but I get around 6 hrs a night. Losing some hair from this protocol so want to see what will happen if I switch to nandrolone as a base. I guess I will find out soon enough as I just switched to Defy. I have been on TRT for about 6 years now--its been effective since the beginning

@pfuked Is your total weekly dosage of anastrozole .5mg (.25 2x/week), or is it .5mg 2x/week for a total of 1mg/week?
Also, your test dosage is 2x/week of .32ml...which equals 128mg of test weekly (assuming it is a 200mg/ml bottle). Is that correct?

What you are describing is close to what I was originally prescribed back 8 years ago. Despite having lower shbg (17), I felt fine. After messing with my protocol, I'm going back to that protocol.....150mg test, small amount of hcg, with anastrozole.

@Cataceous described on another thread regarding low shbg guys, is that there is a possibility of reduced androgenic activity and increased estrogenic activity. This may explain why I never felt good on lower dosages, and why I need anastrozole with it. I've heard it many times, and it holds true for myself, that low shbg guys need to really fine tune their estrogen management.

Your numbers are absolutely perfect IMO it should be working for you. Your numbers are very similar to mine although I use a bit more test 80mg E3.5D and sit around 1000ng/dl with the same E2 and SHBG levels. I find if I deviate from this everything goes to shit but I can always come back to old yeller. The only thing I have wondered is I have seen so many guys with higher SHBG levels who have T:E2 ratios wayyyyy lower than me. I saw Dr Touliatos bloodwork and IIRC he was at 800-900 TT with a 74 E2! I don't understand why at 1000 TT I end up with 30-35 E2 without an AI. I've always wondered if it would be even better if I have a T:E2 of 10-15 instead of 30.

What’s ur total weekly HCG dose? Are u injecting 100iu’s E3D for a total of around 233iu’s/ week?

My anastrozole is 0.5 mg twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday. And my test dose is 0.32 every third day. So 10 doses a month (3.2 ml per month) is on average 0.8 ml every 7 days.

My hcg is 0.1 ml every 3 days which is 100 units every 3 days.

I’m about to add nandrolone for a trial period to see if it decreases hair loss. When I was in college (I was already low testosterone way back then, and also started balding) I did a 6 month nandrolone cycle lol yes 6 months. Anyway, it stopped any further hair loss, and I actually grew most of my hair back

Do u actually notice any benefits from such a low dose of HCG?

And when u did the nandrolone cycle in college and regrew hair, were u on nandrolone only, and how many mgs of nandrolone were u using per week?

Don't really notice anything with the amout of HCG I take, but it seems to keep my nads from getting too small. I will occasionally increase the dose to 300 units every three days, but do that rarely.

And the nandrolone cycle was only nandrolone. I think I was using a modest does, but I cant remember - I think it was about 300-400 mg per week. but I am just guessing based on what I remember. I was leaning out with that dose, and was able to add some muscle mass, but nothing too drastic. I also felt great, and felt happy all the time.

And it really did grow my hair back--maybe that's why I felt happy all the time lol

I'm also low SHBG now at around 13 but don't really feel negative effects from it. My E2 is high at 50+ as well with a T of 800 but never created problems. Years ago when I started TRT in 2016 I was around 25 or so. But I've also gained a lot of weight since then, I was kind of underweight before.

my nipples would be itchy if my E2 was 50+
