Wasted testosterone in dead space in syringe

Huh. I seem to have a little problem here. I’m using those low dead space syringes. Today I thought it might interesting to see how much T hides in the needle and the low dead space by pulling it back. Turns out it’s quite a bit, 0.05ml to be exact. Sounds laughable right? Well if you see it in the syringe it’s not. It’s 1/4 of my EOD shot or in other words, every 4 shots I’m losing an entire shot. Or yet in other words, in a 3 month prescription period I’m losing 11 shots meaning about 3 weeks worth of shots.

Now, I’ve only just switched from E3D and found out that even with biweekly shots I’m JUST about getting by with express shipment etc.

Question. How do you EOD and ED guys do it? Anybody saving it somehow?

Insulin syringes and subcutaneous injections. That 0.05 mL is more than my current daily injection. Some guys can do shallow IM with 1/2" needles on insulin syringes.

Hmm I currently use 1ml easy touch luer lock insulin syringes. I’ve heard that the pharmacy is adding extra T to the bottles in order to compensate for the waste but I very much doubt it’s an extra 2.25ml over two bottles or 1.1ml per bottle which I would need going to EOD. As I said, the E3D protocol left me with just enough without running out before the express shipment is going to hit me. So your weekly dose is less than 70mg?

I’ll definitely check the waste again once I have the new syringes.

My 1mL 200mg/mL cyp bottles are actually 240mg/1.2mL

It’s funny but last month I had to call Defy Medical because the 5ML vial they gave me did not have anywhere near enough Testosterone to last 60days on my .07 ml daily dose. To your point with waste your drawing .13 ish ml daily or 7.8 ML over 60 days!!!
After monkeying with different syringes I’ve settled on the same insulin syringe I use for HCG injections. True Comfort 31 gauge 1/2 inch insulin syringe. You have to inject a bit more air and be patient to allow the syringe to fill. No waste though. Works great!

Cataceous I’m curious what your daily dose and current levels are? I’m on .05 ml daily and I STILL feel my levels are too high (free t 27/ total T 900)

That’s the dreaded nightmare scenario. I take it they had you wait cold turkey until the new prescription period came up? Not good. I was already considering pulling a tiny little bit less each time, actually I feel I’m already doing that due to paranoia, but then the dosage is kind of untrue. In fact I think that’s why I got just about by. I read somewhere in this forum about someone collecting the waste. Not sure if he squirted it back into the bottle or had a separate container. Either way it seems terribly unhygienic. Unless maybe, I guess if you took the needle off...aw man it’s all messy.

Before I got the 30G, 8mm, .3cc syringes I needed to do with 27G, 1ml insuline syringes where the needle can be replaced, so I just sucked out/up the leftover bit with my next syringe the next day...... 0 waste.

I've been experimenting with daily propionate, either alone or in conjunction with enanthate. Currently averaging 3 mg/d propionate and 3.75 mg/d enanthate, with the total equivalent to about 7.5 mg cypionate per day. The combination puts my average total testosterone at about 650 ng/dL, with peaks at ~800 ng/dL and troughs around 500 ng/dL.

@Gunga: You do have leeway for a dose reduction. The average man in his prime has peak testosterone that's under 700 ng/dL. You could drop to 0.04 mL/d and probably still have average testosterone higher than 700. What is uncertain is whether peak testosterone has importance independent of average. In any case, there's no harm in trying a slightly lower dose.

It's averaged more like 30 nMol/L since I started TRT, though I have had a couple lower readings (22, 27) while experimenting with propionate, perhaps suggesting that the higher peak testosterone has a role in this.

Yes, my pharmacy only uses the 1mL bottles. So I get 5 of them a month. I was under the impression the multi-use bottles were being phased out from major pharma brands
