Hey all. Been lurking a long time but never posted until now. I am 44yo and have been on trt for about 8 months. Current protocol is 38mg of test cyp subq EOD for about 133mg per week. Have been taking 1/4mg of Anastrazole every 3.5 days. My main issue has been with libido and erection quality and I seem to be very sensitive to any sort of elevated E2. I tried to go without an AI for a long time but was ending up in the mid 50s on the sensitive scale, which was causing emotions, soft erections and low sex drive. Added in the AI and got to 26 E2 and things were great for a few weeks and all of a sudden disappeared again. Ran E2 and it came back at 31. Can I really be that sensitive to elevated E2 or is something else potentially going on? It has seemed like the entire time I have been doing this that libido has been very on/off and hard to get right.

Also noticed that my total T levels are pretty high for such a low amount of injection. Would I be better off lowering dose and trying to bring E2 in line that way?

It may be possible you are using the wrong E2 labs, men require the LC/MS/MS method and using anything other than this test means you are basing your numbers off invalid tests designed for females.

What do your thyroid labs?

Thanks for the reply. I just checked the report and it is the LC/MS/MS test.

They didn’t run thyroid this last time, but everything was normal originally. I’ll post some numbers later this evening.

Your numbers look very good, pretty much ideal. Quite a few men report that during a dosage change they feel like "they are not even on TRT anymore". They lose almost all the subjective benefits. Then after a month or two when the body get used to the new homeostasis, the subjective benefits return. It seems to be a common phenomenon. So maybe this applies to when someone lowers their E2 as well. Maybe you need to just keep everything where it is and see if things improve after being at these levels for a month or two.

Your dose is not "such a low amount", especially EOD. 100mg/week is a very common starting dose and quite a few adjust even lower. injecting EOD means your troughs and hence lab tests are higher than based on less frequent dosing.

After changing my protocol to 50mg testosterone cypionate 2x a week down from 70-90mg 2x a week my erections are rock solid like when i was a teenager. And my e2 has been similar. Something about lower dosages for me that makes everything falls into place.
