Unless your absurdly high TT is the result of a lab error you are clearly overmedicated here as it is hard to believe one would hit an insanely high TT using therapeutic doses of T!

I would retest as it is hard to believe you would be hitting a ridiculously high TT 2500+ ng/dL a day before your true trough (3.5 days post-injection).

Even if one was hitting such at true peak it would be absurdly high!

Even though you had your TT and FT tested using the most accurate assays there is still a chance of lab error and if your TT is skewed then you would have no clue where your TT and more importantly FT level truly sits!

Even if the results for your TT/FT are skewed it is a given that your FT will still be high seeing as you have elevated estradiol and hematocrit!

The majority of men can easily hit a healthy let alone high trough FT injecting 100-150mg T/week especially when split into more frequent injections.

Yes there are outliers who may need the high-end therapeutic dose of 200mg T/week but it is far from common as in RARE!

Trough levels or your lowest point in the week. This is the ideal time to be checking your hormones on injections.

If you’re on daily or every other day injections, lab timing becomes less important because your hormone levels don’t see a big difference between peak and trough.

We always want to test at the true trough (lowest point) before your next injection to make sure you are hitting a healthy FT level.

True trough when injecting TC/TE:

once weekly - 7 days post-injection

twice-weekly - 3.5 days post-injection

M/W/F - Monday am (72 hrs post-injection)

EOD - 48 hrs post-injection

daily - 24 hrs post-injection


When injecting less frequently as in once weekly there will be a big difference between peak--->trough and blood levels will not be as stable throughout the week.

Injecting more frequently will clip the peak--->trough and blood levels will more stable throughout the week.

When injecting daily there will be a minimal peak--->trough unless using TP.

Seeing as you are injecting 75 mg T twice-weekly (150 mg/week) if you are injecting every 3.5 days then your true trough would be 84 hrs post-injection.

Maybe, maybe not. This all depends on how the individual responds to androgens as no two men respond quite the same. Men have different types of androgen receptors, receptor densities, receptor sensitivity as well as the ability for tissues to respond.

Use me for an example, an outlier far from common, my Total T is 104 ng/dL in the afternoon putting me somewhere <300 ng/dL (very low) and I feel great, have loads of energy, erections and libido where most men would feel like a 90+ year old man.

I am going to retest next week and will post the results to see what has changed

Some things you should know. The half-life of cypionate is on average 5-7 days, so changes in dosing can require 42 days for levels to stabilize, so checking levels one week after making a dosage change is pointless.

Now if you're injecting pure testosterone not attached to an ester, you could check levels 30 minutes after dosing and see a change in hormonal values.

Also, any change to your protocol will cause hormone levels to be in a state of flux for the next couple of weeks and you might not feel consistent day to day as a result of this unsteady hormone state.

No one can tell you what injection frequency would suit you best.

Trial and error is the only way to find out.

Everyone is different.

Many men end up starting out injecting once weekly mind you twice-weekly is more the norm.

Downfall when injecting once weekly is there will be a big difference in peak--->trough (7 days) post-injection and blood levels will not be as stable throughout the week as T levels will be very high and in some cases sky-high (depending on dose of T) 8-12 hrs post-injection (peak)/during the first few days only to be followed by much lower levels come weeks end mind you many may still end up hitting a high-end/high trough if the weekly T dose is too high which would clearly mean they are being OVERMEDICATED!

The big swing in peak--->trough can easily have a negative impact on energy, mood, libido, erectile function and recovery due to the rollercoaster effect.

Some men prefer the big weekly swings.

Again depends on the individual.

Much more common now to start on twice-weekly and although there will still be a difference between peak--->trough it will not be as extreme as blood levels will be more stable throughout the week especially when injecting strictly sub-q which can have a positive impact on how one feels overall throughout the week.

Would not get too caught up on switching up your protocol (dose of T/injection frequency) as you need to retest your TT/FT to see where your levels truly sit.

Again highly doubtful you are hitting a ridiculously high TT 2500+ ng/dL 1 day before your true trough injecting 75 mg TC twice-weekly (150 mg/week).

As I stated previously even if one was hitting such at true peak it would be absurdly high as in no one using therapeutic doses of T would be hitting such let alone would never be needed for treating symptoms of hypogonadism!

What brand of TC are you using (big pharma/generic) or are you self treating using UGL gear?
