TRT and tinnitus

Zero. And i am a “bodybuilder”. Have been lifting for over 20 years. Just as a reference my FT now is low mid 20. At 180mg a week it was high 30s. Zero difference whatsoever in body composition, performance, recovery. One thing worth mentioning is that at higher dosages my anxiety kicked in and i was very energetic not in a good way if you know what i mean

What is your E2 and SHBG like at these levels?

I have figured out my tinnitus and it has nothing to do with TRT, it has to do with vitamin C deficiency. The vitamin C deficiency made my gums bleed and teeth lose, it's the lose teeth that is causing the tinnitus because when I clench down on my teeth, the tone of the ringing changes.

As my teeth got loser, the ringing louder, when I started supplementing vitamin C the ringing got quieter and quieter. Off TRT (45mg) I if I supplement a normal dosage, this worsens my diabetes and now I can't process stuff correctly and stomach goes haywire as the diabetes worsens.

Since starting TRT my requirements for vitamin C has doubled to a normal dose (75-90mg daily) and now the ringing is subsiding. As my teeth get tighter, the ringing also gets quieter.

I figure I might as well share where I'm at nearly 2 years after first replying to this thread!

I saw an ENT a few months after my first post on March of '18. I do have some hearing damage, but I also had negative pressure in my right ear. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory nasal spray, and I laid off of Viagra/Cialis for a while. After a few weeks of using the nasal spray, I felt my right ear "fart" and my tinnitus decreased in volume dramatically to the point where it wasn't noticeable unless I was in a room with no noise.

I'm now fairly dependent on Viagra/Cialis and that has without a doubt been having a negative affect on my tinnitus. I believe the congestion contributes, but there has to be more to it than just that. Either way, my tinnitus is tolerable at this point other than the occasional flare ups. When it does flare up, I just lay of the Viagra and start using my nasal spray.

I've always associated my tinnitus to high or low estrogen, when estrogen is high I take an AI and am find until estrogen is very low, then tinnitus begins again.

Women get tinnitus when estrogen drops in menopause.
Your tinnitus is worse when e2 is low or high? I don't understand what you said.

I was on TRT and Nandrolone when it got that high. I went off everything for 4 months and donated. I started CPAP after that.

Wow. I'm about to stop my test completely for a while too. Skipped today... debating on restarting tomorrow.

What other symptoms did you have?

I couldn't really say, I suffer from Tinnitus but it's more related to guns and my military service, and loud music prior to that, than anything else. It's bad enough that I'm technically "disabled" and receive a monthly stipend/compensation from the VA. Given that I've not noticed it go up or down since I've been on TRT, and I know for a fact my Ferritin has been subterranean levels in the teens but I'm correcting that now. Last test had me in the 40s and no affect on Tinnitus

I served and we never wore hearing protection, shot most of my life with no protection. I also worked in very loud bars for 21 years of my life some with live music. I hear ringing in my ears 24/7....even as I type this Just learned to ignore it. TRT has never effected this at all. My iron levels are also wee within normal. Until I read this, I had no idea it was considered a disability.

The endo said what the problem was when told I my symptoms before we even did labs. I think the Nandrolone was the cause as I never seen numbers like that before in all the years of TRT.

Levels came down when I was off TRT the 4 months and donated twice over that time. I can't remember how long I was on CPAP before labs at 4 months. I restarted TRT without Nandrolone got these labs at 3 months.
