I’ve posted before; however, there’s an update. I tried androgel 1.62%, 40 grams. . Not only did it not work, my psa went up from 3.7 to over 5! Lately i tried testesterone gel, 1%, 50 grams because i heard it may work when androgel doesn’t. Nope. Didn’t work. Testosterone went down and PSA up to 5.8. For the first time, the lab included additional i fo in the PSA that is a little alarming. See pic. I don’t understand it, but it looks like bad news. Set to see urologist in 8 days. I was seeing primary care and could t get into urologist for several months.

Any explanations?

I’m sure you are probably aware that recent ejaculation before the lab draw can cause the PSA to be elevated. I’ve seen recommendations to abstain from ejaculating for at least 2 or 3 days before labs. Hoping that might be a factor for you. There could be prostate inflammation that might raise the PSA temporarily too. Heavy exercise or bicycle riding before labs could be a factor also. Hope all goes well with your appointment.

As mention recent ejaculation can raise Total PSA however, your % free is low. % free should be above 20, the higher the better. I have been monitoring my PSA for years as I have ben on test cyp injections since my 40's, I am now 64. Even though my PSA has risen slowly over the years my % free has been good. I just recently started to take ivermectin and my % free has gone from a steady 25 to 35! I doubt very much the test gel had anything to do with low % free. Good luck at the urologist, hope all is good as it might just be inflammation.
