Tough Meopause: My Wife Needs Assistance

My wife is going through menopause. Very badly with anxiety and depression, cant sleep, mood swings. She is a different person. She went threw Defy for 3 months. Made no difference at all. They didn't even recommend, progesterone. Can you buy progesterone? The doctors just want to just put her on antidepressants.They tried a synthetic progesterone made her depression worse.

Please get her into your PCP and ask for help on the hormones. My wife was on estrogen then added 150mg of progesterone and it literally fixed everything! I think in most cases it can make a big impact. Just do not stop until she is getting relief!

Bioidentical Progesterone vs. Synthetic Progestins

Synthetic progestins do not always act as progesterone would at the same target tissues. This has long been understood with respect to treatment of pregnancy and fertility issues, when progesterone is effectively prescribed, yet synthetic progestins are contraindicated.

While synthetic progestins may mimic some of progesterone’s effects, progestins may react differently with progesterone receptors in the body. A significant consequence of the side effects seen with synthetic progestins has been an increase in the risk of developing breast cancer.

Bioidentical progesterone should have been used.
