Subq injection cause lump?

Hi All,

I’m new to this forum and hoping you can give an opinion on this question.

I’ve been injecting testosterone cyp for several years, two injections per week, each injection 40mg.

I switch to doing subq injections into my belly 10 months ago, no issues until now.

I injected Saturday right side of belly button close to where ab muscle is, probably did hit the muscle but this has happened before.

On Monday after working out which does include abs, I now have this lump, pretty much the same spot of injection, like 1” wide, feels hard. Now it’s Wednesday and feels like there’s now more fluid around the lump.

I’m concerned and wondering if this is common?

Thanks for your opinions!

Btw- I use 29g 1/2” easy touch

I apologize for not reviewing the site forums before posting this question.

I now see what I described as common for others also.

I don’t think I have an infection since my lump area is not red.

I have always pinched the area, but only until the needle is inserted, then no pinch and inject at an angle.

Sounds like I should not pinch

It sounds like a nodule, it happened to me a few times and is harmless. Sometimes I get them when doing IM in the shoulder, but usually subsides later on.

Allow your body to work things out, leave it alone. The last thing you need is to start messing with it causing an infection.
