PSA value doubled in 6 months

Hi, 60 yo, my PSA value 6 months ago was 1.5 today it's 2.9 . I have been on TRT for 5 years and PSA was always 1.5 or lower. I just finished getting over the RSV virus and completing medication for it. Can this be the cause? Also 4 weeks ago I had a viterous detachment in my left eye. The retinal specialist said the retina was stable though there was a bit of blood released when it occurred. I now have a cloudy spot and floaters. My weekly TRT dose is less than 100mg,my total T is 500. E is 10.8 Only other med is Lysinopril 10 mg for high blood pressure. Are any of these conditions correlated ?

I went to my urologist and he did a EXOsome test. It showed 11.4. The high risk value is 15.6. My free PSA is 24.75 down from 50.0. Has anyone had a similar situation that can comment? thanks

Doubling is not good, I would retest in 3 months. To be on the safe side.

Did you ejaculate within 48 hours of the PSA test? If you ejaculated the night before, that can easily double your PSA. I had to prove it to my last doc (who was an endo for over 40 years) who said he never heard of it. Mine dropped from 2.6 to 1.5 when I went back for bloodwork in 2 months just by making sure not to ejaculate at least 48 hours prior to taking blood. I've had as high as 3.5 (about 2 years ago), but again I did not abstain the night prior. My GP doctor when I originally started TRT well over a decade ago told me about that.

I opted to stop the TRT for now just to be safe. My dosage was low 80mg per week, no hcg or anything else. The urologist did not suggest any protocol for "weening off" , he said just stop it.

Stopping TRT only puts you at higher risk. Sometimes playing it safe isn’t really playing it safe, sometimes it bites you in the ***. This study shows that TRT prevents and in some cases delays prostate cancer.

As far as testosterone causing, fueling prorate cancer, the medical literature doesn't support this claim. Yet doctors have insisted it does for decades based on a nobel prize willing Charles Huggins who was at the time the only androgen expert in the world with no one to cross examine his claims/studies and so the myth that testosterone causes prostate cancer was born.
