PSA levels on TRT - SURVEY

Curious to see what everyone’s PSA levels are like on TRT. State your age, pre TRT psa and free % levels and what changes you saw in the first year. Any abnormal spikes?

43 - pre trt psa 0.93 - 3 months into trt 0.77, free 45% - 1 year into trt up to 1.8. Retest pending as this result freaked me out. Googling prostate related topics can cause extreme anxiety.

Internist immediately made a referral to the urologist. Appointment is January 7.
Key metric is PSADT. (Velocity or Doubling Time) Online calculator indicates mine is 2.1ng/ml/year. "A relationship was found between increased PSA velocity (>2 ng/mL/year) before initiation of oncological treatment and increased (12-fold) risk of death. A number of well-documented retrospective analyses show that PSADT is one of the most important parameters to describe the disease aggressiveness. It has to be stressed that single determination of PSA levels is much less precise in terms of describing the biological aggressiveness of prostate cancer than PSADT."

Are you suffering any Prostate symptoms at all?

Yes...most of the typical symptoms and have been prescribed Flomax.

These symptoms only started after trt? Or were they present prior to some extent?

Symptoms started shortly after I started injecting T and were most severe a day or two after injection then would fade away and become less noticeable as the week progressed.

At last check my E sensitive was 51 [8-35] on 100mg T-Cyp (50mg E3.5D). It usually varies from 45 - 55
Unfortunately I don't know what it was prior to starting TOT.

I am 67, first 5 years on TRT no change in PSA, after restart and back on TRT, PSA stated to jump around. I included dates that I had an antibiotic for reasons unrelated to TRT/PSA because it’s possible that was what lowered the PSA level.

Suddenly, I became allegoric to amoxy, so changed to clindamycin.

Not much.

To be fair, no one doctor has the total picture, Defy has the most info but not all, and I never had a consult with a doctor. I have had different doctors at different times and at times buy my own tests.

I see my urologist sometime next year, IF my PSA rises above 3.8 I will take my history with me and discuss whether this might be prostatitis.

Prostatitis almost always causes annoying and sometimes painful symptoms. Prostatitis can cause a spike in psa levels but not a “ gradual spike”.
