Ok, So if I was to inject every 3 days how long does the testosterone stay in my blood stream, and when does the injection peak in my bloodstream. I ask because I was on Androgel for 2 years and I felt good most of the day, and now I started to inject because I'm not absorbing the testosterone any longer and I don't feel any Peak like I use to when I first starting the Gel 2 years ago... basically my libido is still not so good...

The half life of test. cyp. is about a week, peak blood concentration happens 2-3 days after injecting. Because of the long half life you won't reach steady average levels for 3-4 weeks. When did your doc say he was going to re-test you?

I never got the initial libido boost I had on gels when doing injections, in my case I think it was DHT related, but I digress.

I haven't discussed any more tests with him , but I still have to see him for some other blood work that he did for me, so I guess I'll bring up the question about retesting. So you tell me the boost is not similar with injections and gels, I do be leave your right. I don't feel any great surge in my libido after injections . But when I was on the gels it really gave me a really big surege...So after a few weeks will my levels rise, I'm only in the 335 range. Free test 11. Estrogen 11 also. I need to be 500 to 700. My Dr doesn't want me to start to high of a dose. And another question I should inject 2 X's a week would that be every 3 days or 4 days.

The last time I started on a transdermal I went and got tested when I was in the sweet spot after about 10 days, I was feeling really good and libido was high, no ED. My test. was 453, range 241-827; Free T was 5.7, range 3.8-34.2. Now my T and Free T are near the top of the range and my libido is almost zero and I have ED problems. Estrogen is 28 on the sensitive E2 test, but just in case I've trialed some low dose Arimidex to no effect.
Like I said, I never got this libido boost when starting injections, so I have to ask if T and Free T aren't what caused the libido boost on transdermals then what is? Well DHT is one possibility, I wonder if I have a sweet spot for DHT that is I am lower or higher my libido tanks. Could also be something like the ratio of hormones since when I am in the sweet spot my hormone levels are still changing and adjusting.

As far as injecting twice a week, I've read about guys doing something like Sat. morning and Tuesday night. Maybe people more experienced with injections can comment.

I think DHT is the answer. Higher conversion to DHT from topicals and they say DHT is what often makes you feel good and good libido. I put a dab on my scrotum every once in a while and it really boosts it. I have a compounded cream.

Thanks for that reply , so my question to any members, on a 2 injection a weeks what is the best time and days to inject. And in response to the DHT, I was under the impression the DHT is what causes hair loss.? Why would you apply a drug that causes other problems, unless I'm misunderstanding this post...

It does not matter what time you inject as long as you space them 3.5 or so days apart. 50-75 mg per injection may bring many guys above 500 mg/dL. Your free testosterone should be at least 2.5 percent of total.

I use a 20 gauge to load and a 27 gauge to inject now on my thighs (I have been injecting on my butt for 20 years but have a right hand problem that is making it hard).

Nelson, thanks for your response. So injecting between 3 and 5 days will keep my levels stable.? And when do you think I should retest my levels after starting. I'm on my 3rd injection. Should I do them in 30 days? . I had my baseline tests preformed prior to starting..

Chris, most doctors will revisit labs at/around 6 weeks after starting initial therapy.
