My latest Labs and a question on HCG vs patients age

I had my latest Labs performed here in Canada and spoke with my doctor about supplementing with HCG. The doctor informed me that she did not recommend it and that it would have no benefit for me as I am post andropause. I had never heard of that theory before. Can others comment, please? I have been on Test cream (compounded) for 6 months.

Testosterone: 33 8.0-29.5 (nmol/L)
Progesterone: 1.5 <3.0 (nmol/L
DHEAS: 12.2 <7.9(umol/L
FSH: <0.5 <7.0 (U/L)
LH: 0.5 <12.0 (U/L)
HGB 156 135-175 (g/L)
HCT 0.48 0.41-0.52 (L/L)
RBC 5.57 4>30-6.00

Following the tests the doctor slightly lowered my dosage of DHEA.

That makes no sense whatsoever. While not everyone feels a benefit from HCG it back-fills important pathways, which is not an age-dependent process. That and your doctor should know that testing LH and FSH on guys on TRT is silly because they are expected to be near zero when your HTPS axis is shut down.

How are you feeling overall?

You are what??? I am not laughing at you, just shaking my head at this doctor. HCG does so much beyond maintaining fertility. It restores, or certainly can restore, your testicle size if they have shrunken due to exogenous testosterone, and - most importantly - back fills enormously important hormonal pathways that are necessary for health and, for many of us, it can boost libido and general health. It can be added to your protocol at any time...and should be.

I'm in Canada and I have heard of fellows having trouble getting an HCG prescription, but this is a first. My own doctor, also a woman, stresses the need for HCG. Where do you live?

Yes, the doctor's statement left me shaking my head as well. Thanks for the replies, "VINCE", "ERO" and "COASTWATCHER". I am 66, fit, strong, feeling great, strong libido, strong erections, (I supplement with 5mg daily Cialis), and have noted no testicular shrinkage or discomfort however I wanted to ensure none occured and from my research I thought the HCG would enhance the TRT supplementation by backfilling the hormonal pathways, as has been referenced here many times, as well as perhaps lessening the discomfort of joint pain and mild osteo-arthritis. I live in Alberta. "Coastwatcher", in what province are you? Thanks for the "thread" "Vince".

Everytime I take Cialis my testicles feel full no matter if I inject HCG or not. Is increased nitric oxide responsible for that? Can men on 5 mg Cialis per day prevent testicular atrophy without HCG? That would be a cool study to do.

Nelson, I like the way your mind works. I might participate if I could check out the researchers first (Professional credentials of course, Hahaha).
