You do have low testosterone and your lipid panel looks bad. Your 45 you try cleaning up your lifestyle with exercise and better diet. But you may also consider TRT. If you read a lot of treads you'll know TRT is not a cure for all and it's a lifetime commitment.

Thanks Vince. I am pretty active. Workout 3-5x a week. My only complaints are ZERO libido and a feeling of indifference in every aspect of my life. No motivation, etc. Do you notice anything else other than the low T and lipids? Thank you again.

I took out your ID #. Nothing really stands out, I'm sure other will chime. I do wonder why you have low testosterone.

What are your symptoms?

You seem to be primary hypogonadal. Total test is below range while LH is decently mid to upper range.

DHT is low end of the range, actually below, but by 1 point.

Your lipids aren't that bad IMO, LDL is largely genetic AFAIK, and your triglycerides are decent, HDL can be raised some IMO.

Overall, if you're symptomatic, I'd start TRT if I were you. Anyone who says your testosterone is fine, is out of their mind haha.

Also, E2 is rather low. <15pg/ml is associated with osteoporosis, higher mortality, and a lot of other things. Most scary of all, is low E2 symptoms, zero libido, joint pain, excessive urination, excessive thirst, anhedonia, hot flashes that itch and anxiety. Also, you just "feel" old, like you're 90.

Thanks Jon. I literally lost my libido/interest overnight....January 2015 to be exact. I used to be horny every day and could perform like I was a teenager. Then like a light switch it was gone. No desire, no drive, penis would work 70% of the time...even porn no longer interested me. Additionally I started feeling indifferent about everything. Lost my motivation at work. I became a "bare-minimum" performer which was NEVER me. I've busted my butt since high school and always gave 100%. I thought I was just depressed but I have no reasons to be....Been to my GP 4x and an endo once. They offered me TRT and/or wellbutrin. I declined both. As of now I am not on any meds, nor in the past.

I also feel like my reward system is dead.....I get little or no joy in anything. This also occurred in 2015-Jan. I truly believe I'm not depressed. Sure I have stress at work, etc but who doesn't? I have a great wife and wonderful (brats) children. :) I get 6-7 hours of sleep per night. Drink my bourbon 2x a week. I am a smoker (yeah I know..) Never nap during the day. And I'm guessing I'm average or slightly above "active". Fitbit tells me 8-9k steps a day at the office and my wife and I workout 4-5x a week in our home gym. We run, mountain bike and eat one crappy meal every Sunday. That's our cheat day. We typically eat clean Mon-Saturday. 2000cal or less a day.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

So essentially anhedonia. It's different than depression IMO. No appetite changes, or sleep changes, just overall feel like the volume was turned down on life.

"zero libido, joint pain, excessive urination, excessive thirst, anhedonia, hot flashes that itch and anxiety. Also, you just "feel" old, like you're 90."

You fit all of those pretty much it sounds.

The thing is, cigarettes are an AI, the strength of which I don't know, or even know if there's a way to quantify AI strength but it is there.

Whether or not it's causing your symptoms isn't known and the only way to know is to quit.

Contrary to popular belief, and to the best of my knowledge cigarettes do not decrease testosterone directly, they might even slightly raise it. I could be wrong because I haven't looked at the research in a while.

Hey Nelson, I do however he is NOT an advocate of TRT despite offering it. IMO he's not experienced in this area. He also stated that simply getting more sunlight will raise my T.

It could.

Probably wouldn't.

Do you know what protocol he was going to start with? Obviously you had to order your own labs for a reason, so he probably didn't order sufficient labs which certainly isn't a good sign.

I personally think a quick way to assess a doctor's knowledge or experience with TRT, is to ask them about E2. That will tell you a lot.

Defy has great reviews and the cash policy isn't an issue. I'll reach out to them after my consult with Nelson.

John- do you think my lack of libido is Low-T driven? I'm honestly not expecting a cure-all miracle but I do want to find the root cause of it.

There are good reasons to believe your libido could be spurred by higher testosterone levels. In my own case, my pre-therapy levels were lower than yours, I had no libidinal sense, and TRT restored it. Each of us is different, good friends here at EM have found the restoration of libido to be a challenge, but you should certainly be hopeful.

Beyond Testosterone Book by Nelson Vergel
Morning guys- I'm making my final decision this week on TRT. Meet with Nelson for my consult and was nothing less than impressed with his direction and knowledge.

I would like to know what ya'lls determining factors were when making the TRT commitment? I've lined out my symptoms in this thread however I'm reading several posts (and google searches) that state TRT had no positive effects and sometimes made their life worse? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
