My dad has Low T.

Hello there.
I actually joined this site for myself, but posting a message never happened. Now i am posting my first message about my dad.
He is 56 years old. I don't know his actual height and weight, but i think its around 5 ft 9 and 165 lbs.
I suggested him to go to a doctor about T levels, because i, myself suffering from hypogonadism, and i was curious about my dads T levels. I made a list for him about blood tests, but he said he didn't want to give too much blood sample, so i reduced number of blood tests and made a new list only includes the most important ones. So thats why blood results are limited.
He didn't fast for test and blood sample drawn not exactly at morning. It was close to midday.
Here are the results ;

TSH 0.88 µIU/mL (0.34 - 5.60)
Free T3 3.17 pg/mL (2.3 - 4.2)
Free T4 0.72 ng/dL (0.58 - 1.25)
LH 3.02 mIU/mL (1.24 - 8.60)
FSH 4.28 mIU/mL (1.3 - 19.0)
Estradiol <20 pg/mL (10 - 52)
Progesterone 0.16 ng/mL (0.28 - 1.22)
Testosterone 167.85 ng/dL (241 - 827)

I don't think there would be much difference morning vs. midday levels for him, i adviced him to go to a specialist about this, but he doesn't seem caring about these levels.
About his life style i can see from outside, he eats clean, no junk food etc. , he is physically active not sitting all day home, but not doing any sports.
So, should i push him about 'fixing' testosterone levels? What are the risks of low T, especially for older people? I am not fully ignorant about low T, but i wouldn't say no to guidance.
Thanks.

LOL, funny you think 56 is old (I am 56 and look the best I ever have).

The main question to answer is: Have you asked him how he feels and how his sex drive is?

His testosterone is low but it is always good to ask quality of life. His estradiol is also low but that is due to his low T.

How does your father feel? What was his reaction to these lab values? TRT is a big commitment, he has to be willing to accept all that comes with it. And, by the way, there are plenty of men, members here, older than your dad who are enjoying the benefits of androgen replacement.

yes I agree 56 is still young, wonder if he can raise his testosterone naturally? Like coastwatcher said TRT is a big commitment it must be something he wants to do, it would be nice to find out what's causing his low T.

I didn't say 56 is old. :D It's just older than my age. If you mean 'especially for older people' part, i was pointing 'risks about hypogonadism that occurs after puberty/late-onset hypogonadism'.

About sex drive, i dont even think he is masturbating, let alone having sex.

He says that he is fine but i don't believe to him. Maybe it's because of he get used to symptoms. I don't think he pays attention to his results.

Yes, i think he would go to a specialist for what causes his low T, but i don't think he would want to get injected, he wouldn't even bother it.

Note: When i try to ask about something about symptoms, he doesn't take me seriously. He jokes, taunts about it.

if you post your area, maybe someone can help you find a good doctor.

In my opinion, only 10-20 % of men who need TRT get it. Denial is part of it. Another reason is the fact that you have no motivation to research when you have low T.

That is why it is so important to have advocate buddies that can help others through that mental fog state.
