My Clomid Journal

I started on clomid about a week ago. I'll try to remember to keep this journal updated to give people some insight. I am working with Dr. Saya and the Defy team as doctors locally consider all my levels normal despite the symptoms.

23 year old male, no steroid use, have had panic attacks/anxiety since i was 16 or so which runs in my family.

25mg Clomid daily
DHEA/Pregnenolone 15mg/25mg daily

Labs -
Thyroid Panel With TSH
TSH 4.220 (0.450-4.500 uIU/mL)
Thyroxine (T4) 4.8 (4.5-12.0 ug/dL)
T3 Uptake 37 (24-39 %)
Free Thyroxine Index 1.8 (1.2-4.9)

Testosterone, Free/Tot Equilib
Testosterone, Serum 481 (348-1197 ng/dL)
Testosterone,Free 11.69 (5.00-21.00 ng/dL)
% Free Testosterone 2.43 (1.50-4.20 %)

DHEA-Sulfate 280.0 ug/dL (164.3 - 530.5)
Luteinizing Hormone(LH) 3.5 mIU/mL (1.7 - 8.6)

Recent thyroid labs -

Thyroxine (T4) Free, Direct, S
T4,Free(Direct) 1.32 ng/dL (0.82 - 1.77)
TSH 5.470 High uIU/mL (0.450 - 4.500)
Reverse T3, Serum 13.2 ng/dL (9.2 - 24.1)
Thyroglobulin Antibody 0.0 IU/mL (0.0 - 0.9)
Thyroglobulin Antibody measured by Beckman Coulter Methodology
Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Ab 7 IU/mL (0 - 34)
Triiodothyronine,Free,Serum 2.7 pg/mL (2.0 - 4.4)

I saw an endocrinologist locally who went over my thyroid lab work. I wanted to get a 2nd opinion as Defy and my primary doctor were concerned with the levels. The endo ordered some more labs but said with these current levels he sees no need to treat it. He specializes in thyroid disorders. I have a consultation with a Defy nurse this week so we'll see what they say.

The main symptoms i'd like to fix are fatigue, irritability, weight gain/less strength and overall well being. I don't feel the same after my workouts like I did 3 years ago. So far after a week I can't say I notice much which is to be expected based on what i've been told and read. Maybe a slight increase in energy levels. I felt great during my Tuesday workout but on Thursday felt like crap.

I am not sure what the plan is if clomid ends up working. Maybe long term use of clomid or something else?

Welcome to Excelmale. Your post is rather incomplete. You are on Clomid? If so, can you provide us with protocol details? You mentioned something about not noticing any changes in a week. That isn't a lot of time; androgen replacement requires patience. Is your protocol prescribed by the team at Defy, or locally? Again, I found it a bit ambiguous. Finally, was your SHBG and estradiol measured?

I completely forgot to add the dosages for the medications. I updated the OP. It was prescribed by Defy. I understand it will take awhile and i'm willing to be patient hopefully my post didn't come across as me being impatient. From my understanding it will be 3-4 more weeks before anything noticeable occurs.

This is bloodwork from a week ago. Been on clomid now for roughly a month.

I felt better 2 weeks ago than I feel now. Brain fog and my head just feels spacey. Tough to describe. Feeling tired especially in the mornings. Less morning erections. Probably the high estradiol levels but i'll see what Defy recommends.
