Hello everybody,

first off I want to say that this site has been a great resource for researching TRT and related subjects! I am a first-time-poster and would like to receive some input and advice on my current situation. I am majorly struggling with life right now and need some drastic change. Let's go:

Male / 30 years old / working out / healthy diet / healthy weight

Symptoms:
  • Brainfog and horrible memory
  • Constant fatigue and zero motivation
  • Terrible sleep quality despite good sleep hygiene
  • No muscle/strength gains and trouble losing weight
  • Depression and mild anxiety
  • Reduced libido
  • Low self-esteem

Bloodwork:

Life is hell at the moment and this is not an exaggeration. As I live in a country where TRT for young men is still controversial, it is hard to find a good doctor. My current endocrinologist is very knowledgeable about TRT but at the same time very hesitant when it comes to self-injection and Test Cyp. My doctor suggested the following route:

Therapy:
  • Testogel ED on scrotum with 60mg Testosterone
  • 20.000 iu Vitamin D / week until in healthy range
  • 25µg Thyroxine (T4) ED

If the Testogel does not bringt the desired results I could switch to Testo undecanoat (Aveed/Nebido). I think the cream as well as the undecanoat is not the best treatment option but I might not be able to convince my doctor to do Test Cyp self-injections E3D. My only option would be to self medicate.

  • What do you think about my bloodwork?
  • Is the cream worth a shot or am I wasting my time and money? How does cream compare to Test C injections E3D (or similar)?
  • What do you think about my thyroid bloodwork and therapy? Is the Thyroxine really necessary?

Any input or advice is highly appreciated!

I think that past the point of do you qualify medically for TRT, yes, but after that all the numbers are going to change so I won't dig in those. If there's one thing to pay attention to is your SHBG @ 18, make sure that you continue to test that as it will be a key player in TRT.

I think the scrotum application daily would be perfectly fine for you to try, the only downside is some guys can not absorb it all or effectively. There's chance of contact with your female partner(s) or family members, which is honestly very low but is a concern with topicals.

Thyroid...T4 only treatment is a flawed thing, T3 is the active hormone and a treating only with T4 makes a huge assumption that your body is or will convert T4 > T3. The most effective treatments are T3 or a T3/4 blend.
