Been looking at this forum for a while and decided I would finally register. My background is I was diagnosed with low T back in 2006, but was planning on having more children so my urologist suggested I wait. In July of 2014 my wife and I decided we did not want anymore children so my urologist Prescribed me Axiron and cialis daily for ED. Initially all worked great until the beginning of this year I started having ED issues and felt like crap. My wife then decided she would want one more child so I talked to my urologist and he put me on clomid and started to ween me off Axiron, this made things worse, especially with the ED issues. I told my urologist, he took me off clomid and told me to continue with axiron. I tried to talk to him about HCG, but he had no idea of its function for TRT and told me to see an endocrinologist. That was going to take 2 months before I could get an appointment which is too long with ED problems. My Uro told me to just be patient for two months, easy for him to say. I then went through Defy medical and had a consult with Dr. Crisler and was put on 80mg twice weekly of Test Cyp and 100IU of HCG daily. My E2 was high, not sure what the value was so I am taking .5mg of anastrozole twice weekly, on injection days. I have been on this protocol for 2 weeks now and feel better, but my ED is not better yet, and my libido is definitely not where it was. Hopefully I just need to give it more time for all to fall in place. Anyway, thank you for everything this site does, it is a wealth of information and knowledge.

Thank you for posting rogart. It can be frustrating when dealing with ED and any length of time suffering from these symptoms is too long. Congrats on starting treatment with Dr Crisler. I think you will notice a significant difference on injections versus the topical testosterone. You mentioned being on the new protocol for two weeks. It is important to remember that testosterone cypionate takes time for effects to show. Testosterone plays a role in maintaining libido and erectile function, but there are also other contributing factors such as neurohormones that play an equally important role. We can sometimes overlook the importance of our brain chemistry when it comes to libido. Things like chronic or acute stress, poor sleep, alcohol, certain medications, and some mental health conditions can affect neurohormones and lead to ED or poor drive. Evaluating and reducing any stress can be beneficial as your sex hormones begin to balance.

You mentioned the possibility of children. There is lots of evidence showing that the use of HCG during TRT can help maintain fertility and testicular function. In some cases where the patient's baseline level of spermogenesis and testosterone were low, it is possible that fertility may improve on this protocol. While HCG stimulates sperm production, restoring testosterone levels helps improve sperm motility. Low testosterone can lower motility.

After being on TRT for over 5 years my wife and I were successful. My only change was to add HCG more consistently.
