Good Day Men

Just a quick intro. I've been reading over the plethora of information on this forum, and you guys really put out some great and applicable discussions. I'm a personal trainer and triathlon coach here in Houston, so this is especially a fascinating area for me and to my clients who are on TRT or considering it. And truly, anyone wanting to live a better life regardless of age. There is definitely more real-world data and experiences here than from my general practitioner (of whom I rarely see.)

I'm 42, and have asked my Dr. to test my T every few years since my mid 30s. Firstly, I had to come up with "reasons" to test my T so insurance would cover it (pathetic, eh), and secondly, he never once said, "you know, Free T is just as important as Total T, and E2, SHBG are good to know as well." Probably not a shocker to any of you guys here that the medical community is lacking in this area. So, it's up to us to get the labs, monitor, chart, retest and so on.

I'll probably ask questions here in the future and will happily contribute from my knowledge base when I can.

Thanks again.

Salasman, glad you joined. Yeah, a lot of physicians in the general medical community are not fully up to speed on this stuff. Some will admit it, others will let their pride and egos control the matter. Regardless, there's plenty of places and people that are in the know with this.
