Hi Guys,

I'm trying to understand the casues of low dhea-s on trt? I have been at 66 ug/dl for the past few years. HCG did not seem to help

Because your body doesn’t need it to make testosterone. It’s common for it and progesterone to be low. I’ve really found no benefit to supplementing either of these.

I think u have it backwards still lol. As far as I know, DHEA opposes cortisol. So high DHEA can lower cortisol.
That's what I mean though, if cortisol rises in the body, dhea rises as well in an attempt to oppose it, since it is an antagonist to cortisol. If there is less cortisol in the blood, there should be less dhea as well since the body isn't trying to lower cortisol any further. I still may be wrong but that's my understanding of it.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe you’re right. My DHEA-S is always naturally at the top of the range, and cortisol is usually on the lower side. But that’s just a quick pull of the cortisol with my am labs. Need to do a 4 point saliva cortisol test to get a more accurate picture of where my cortisol levels are at
