Allergic reaction to oils

I have a friend who is having allergic reactions to testosterone cypionate injections He gets a fairly large itchy rash about 3” across. If he takes an antihistamine there are no problems. Injection sites have been sub q in belly and IM in leg, results are the same. He started with grape seed oil and went to sesame seed oil and is now starting cottonseed oil. The first 2 created the same problem, just started cottonseed yesterday. That stuff is over double the price.
Has anybody encountered such reactions? I M curios if it is the oils or the drug itself

It's usually always the oil

Yes there have been some cases where one will have a bad reaction to the ester but I would say the carrier/excipients of the formulation are the usual culprits.

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) to testosterone is rare and only two cases have been reported.5,6 In these cases, patients raised suspicion of testosterone ACD following reactions to Andropatch® placement and were patch-tested to different testosterone formulations and Andropatch® excipients, including ethanol. Results showed positive reactions to testosterone propionate and undecanoate5 in one case and to testosterone enanthate and undecanoate in the other.6 To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction to testosterone cypionate.

ACD to excipients in injectable testosterone preparations has not been reported. A case of anaphylaxis secondary to benzyl benzoate in testosterone injections was described,7 but our patient did not have an immediate reaction and instead developed delayed reactions, consistent with Type IV rather than Type I hypersensitivity reaction. With injections being a common route of administration of testosterone, clinicians should be aware of the rare setting of delayed hypersensitivity to testosterone cypionate, one of the main formulations. In the setting of allergy to testosterone cypionate, alternative injectable formulations can be considered

Big pharma is for profits over everything, unfortunately. So they’re going to use the cheapest ingredients possible, in their products. Same with compounding pharmacies. The UGL source I use actually uses way healthier carrier oils and excipients. Again, really sad that this is the case. It’s the same with food tho. Big companies are going to use the cheapest/ most harmful ingredients possible, to increase profits as much as possible. It takes small mom and pop type companies to make the same/ similar foods, but with healthy/ more expensive ingredients. Same with UGL’s. They’re the only place ur going to find AAS made with human grade MCT oil, which as far as I know, is the best carrier oil that can be used. Really wish we could just pay more and be able to get pharma grade AAS made with MCT oil, and healthier excipients.

This is pure nonsense!

There are no major health benefits when it comes to MCT being used as the carrier oil as any oil whether (cottonseed, sesame, arachis, grapeseed, castor) being used by big pharma let alone any reputable compounding pharmacy are pharmaceutical grade and higly refined/purified.

Even then if one used human grade MCT oil as the carrier other than its low viscosity which will make drawing/injecting a breeze the nutritinal benefits hold no f**king weight here as the amount of the oily solution one is injecting whteher following a once weekly protocol or injecting more frequently is miniscule!

We are talking a measly 1 mL of the oily solution/week at best!

The majority of men on TTh are injecting 100-200 mg/week and some <100 mg/week!

The most commonly used esters are TC/TE 200 mg/mL strength.

Now if we are talking diet and consuming fats then we can get really deep here when it comes to saturated (long, medium, short-chain), polyunsaturated, monounsaturated let alone the most critical fats when it comes to health the polyunsaturated Essential Fatty Acids (EPA/DHA/AA)!

You need to stop hanging out on those mickey mouse forums let alone watching all those kiddie videos on the net!

Still clueless after all these years!

Stuck on re-runs here.

Again as I stated in a previous thread!

The nutritional benefits are moot and even then the amount of oil being injected is minuscule!

Would not even waste my time fretting over the nutritional properties.

If anything you would be far better off stuffing some extra virgin coconut oil down your piehole.

You know that crude/unrefined/unpasteurized oil which contains a large percentage of health-promoting lauric acid.

You can nitpick over the viscosity or possible allergic reactions to certain carrier oils but fretting over the nutritional benefits is f**king absurd!
