PSA is a blood test used to determine if there are any abnormalities of the prostate, including prostate cancer. This micro-video provides an overview of how an abnormal PSA can be further assessed, including the use of 4k Score blood tests, urine tests such as ExoDx or PCA3, and MRI. The potential approach to prostate biopsy is also discussed. A prostate biopsy is necessary to make a diagnosis of prostate cancer, but not all men with an abnormal PSA will require a prostate biopsy. Further evaluation before a biopsy is almost always helpful for a man with an abnormal PSA.

Does anyone have experience with Dr. Schlegel? I'm looking for a urologist in the NYC area that will not jump straight to a biopsy for an elevated PSA test result.
