6 Week Lab Follow-up - Slight Defy disappointment

I switched to Defy 7 weeks ago after 3 months on TRT with my local physician. I had a great consult with Dr. C and learned more in a 1/2 hour than I did in the previous three months. He prescribed 160mg Test C 1 x week (Injection freq was my request), 500 HCG 2 x week (two days before and day of injection and DHEA. He also recommended new labs at 6 weeks and a consult.

I visited the lab the morning of, but before my Test injection last Friday and received my results today:
Hematocrit 52.6 (37.5-51)
Testosterone 996 (384-1197)
Free Test 28.2 (6.8-21.5)
DHEA 258.2 (71.6 - 375.4)
Estradial, Sensitive 63.9 (8.0 - 35)
45/6'0"/237


I actually feel a little bit better than I did prior to this regimen, except gaining weight despite continuing to exercise and eat right, some major swollen ankles at times, and some irritability. Libedo is good, but slower to get an erection and much longer to orgasm (This has actually been a plus

My frustration with Defy is after getting the labs I was told the next available appointment is 3 weeks out. So essentially if I need to make any changes I need to live with what I'm on until then. They won't take appointments until after the labs are back in hand, even for existing patients.

With these numbers, any concern waiting three weeks?

Your numbers look pretty good for a once a week protocol. My recommendation and that of probably everybody else here is to switch to injecting every 3.5 days. Less conversion to E2, more even test levels. Your E2 is on the high side but as long as you do not have itchy/sore nips or other overt signs of high E2 you should be fine for another 3 weeks.

Hi Michael - Dr C will get you dialed in when you chat with him. All in all it seems a little E2 tweaking and a blood donation should do the trick. Certainly no health concerns that would make waiting 3 weeks a terrible concern.

Consider a few things for your appt:

- Smaller HCG injections may help your E2 (perhaps 250iu TIW or 350iu BIW)

- Your post makes it clear you already understand this, but splitting your testosterone dosage to BIW would likely help your E2 as well (your levels are a bit high for your trough)

- you may need a micro-dose of anastrozole either in conjunction with or if the above fail (to be determined by you and Dr C)

Donate blood before the consult, and it might be worthwhile to donate and then use the 3 week gap to RECHECK YOUR CBC to show him the lower levels...he will be IMPRESSED by your initiative ;-)

To me, a "micro-dose" is in the neighborhood of 0.125mg - 0.25mg BIW.

Michael303331 - With a sensitive estradiol of nearly 64 (8 - 35) on day 7 of a once weekly protocol...can you imagine how high your E2 would have been if labs were drawn on day 3, 4, or 5?
