    Quetiapine for sleep

Have you tried lowering your thyroid hormone dose? I found that following the usual STTM recommendations of using NDT only, getting TSH down near 1, free T3 and freeT4 toward the upper end of the range, etc, just totally wrecks any hope of me getting a decent nights sleep. I've switched to a low...

Trazodone: Common sleep drug is little-known antidepressant

Anything used to promote sleep is messing with brain chemistry and should be used with a good deal of caution.

    Quetiapine for sleep

Trazodone did nothing for me, other than make me feel like a zombie the next day. I used zolpidem effectively for years but I've built up a tolerance to it and it is getting less effective, I'm hoping to try quetiapine soon.

    Blindsided by TSH labs

The manufacturer's websites I've read say that they all test the T4 and T3 content of each batch of NDT to insure consistency.

Game over, stopping everything. Have a question...

The guys who say you can't stop are the guys for whom TRT has worked. They feel much better on TRT than they did before so why on earth would you want to stop? These guys would go back to feeling like crap if they did stop. Unfortunately I'm on of the guys who's gotten no discernible benefit...

I didn’t prepare well for Dr. Saya this time, really need some help.

There are people who, rather than go through the expense of a sleep study, will buy a used auto adjusting CPAP machine and use it to see if their symptoms improve. There a at least 2 online sleep apnea forums that could guide you through the purchasing and set up process.

    Blindsided by TSH labs

Other than Armour you can try to get NP Thyroid by Acella, WP Thyroid, or Naturethroid. There have been some shortages reported for some of these meds so you would have to call your pharmacy to find out what is available.

Restarting after 8 years of TRT

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your troubles. Sadly they mirror mine almost exactly, except I've only been on this ride 6 years. I've traveled the country to see the top names in the field to no avail. I'd really love to try and come off TRT except that my health has worsened so...

    Article: Benefits of Glycine Supplementation

How long have you been taking it? I've used it too, but the effect wears off after a couple of weeks and I'm back where I started. I have to stay off of it a couple of months and let it wash out of my system before I can feel the effects again.

    Next frustrating step

Your take on the situation is absolutely correct, a trial of thyroid would certainly be worth a try and is very safe. You need to find another doctor or you can buy some Thyrovanz or Thyroid-S

Does my primary find out i`m on TRT if it is decided that it is necessary????

In my state my doctors can only access prescriptions filled at in state pharmacies. So they do not see the prescriptions I get through Defy, yet. Interestingly with a recent software upgrade one of my doctors was able to access lab reports from Labcorp ordered by other Doctors, even from years...

Really need some help on trying to sleep, cortisol is highest at 12am

Really need some help on trying to sleep, cortisol is highest at 12am

I am in a very similar situation except I have no ability to fall asleep spontaneously, I have to use Ambien, and I usually describe the way I feel when I get up in the morning like I've been hit by a bus. I actually went on TRT to try to help with my sleep problems, it hasn't helped. It...

DHEA Levels and Effects of Supplementation

I found when I tried switching from levothyroxine to NDT my freeT3 went to the top of the range but my freeT4 went below the bottom of the range. My iron and cortisol levels were fine. Clearly too much T3 for me. I went back to levo, although I could have tried just reducing my NDT dose and...

Defy writing me a prescription for labs

You should be able to ask BCBS for a written estimate based on where you will be getting the labs done, but you still need to be careful because even if you get the blood drawn at your local patient service center they will bill it as if the blood were drawn in the state of the ordering...

How come we can't really identify or simulate what is happening during the TRT Honeymoon?

First, a lot of guys who go on TRT have levels under 300, and a lot of time lower than that. So if you are injecting enough to get to a level of 1000 after you are shut down that extra 200 or 300 (giving you a total T of 1200-1300) from your natural production probably isn't what is causing the...

Selling Testosterone: Review of the American Market

Many, maybe most, men who try testosterone have horrible lifestyle issues. Lousy diet, no exercise, drinking too much alcohol, etc, and then they expect TRT to "fix" them. It doesn't work that way.

Are you primary? or what were your LH and FSH before starting TRT? There is at least one study that shows guys who are primary do not always get LH and FSH fully suppressed while on TRT.
