    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

The Rigiscan device madman posted seems like it would produce some useful data (frequency, duration, hardness, etc). I haven't tried it yet, but I did call the manufacturer last year to find out about them. There aren't many of those devices in the US and you can't buy one personally, you have...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I agree, mine have mostly gone away but have come back very strongly a few days here and there. It makes me think the change is more hormonal/chemical than some permanent physical change. It seems to be related to multiple factors which makes troubleshooting it's disappearance tricky.

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

Silly question here, but did it make you feel like you are 30 or 35 again? I am not shooting for 20 or 25, but if I could lock in my sexual function of 30 or 35 that would be awesome.

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

Are there any permanent side affects to trying out GnRH like there can be with TRT in terms of shutting down endocrine systems? Or is supplementing with GnRH like using enclomiphene in that you can try it and then stop it with low risk of any permanent disruption? Also, do you know of any blood...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I have tried beet root and some other nitric oxide type foods and supplements (watermelon, pomegranate, etc) they do make somewhat of a difference in erection and orgasm quality but haven't brought back morning erections for me. Before turning 41/42, I never needed to ingest anything special or...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

So do you believe the increase in Free T is what restored morning erections for you?

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I agree, these two tests are useful to identify or rule out certain cardiovascular issues. I had both of them done. The penile doppler ultrasound conducted on me showed no plaque, no scar tissue, no venous leakage, and very strong blood flow. They take these measurements while flaccid, half...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

While your morning wood went away in your 40s, during the years after, did your erections during sex stay mostly the same? Or was the loss of morning wood the beginning of worse erections during sex in the years that came after?

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

It is interesting that using low-dose Cialis does make my morning erections come back most days. Since that is the case, it seems like the other mechanisms involved in a morning erection (brain, nerves, signaling, venous closure, etc) are working, it's just a case of the body not generating...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

That is a good point, unfortunately I don't know the method used on my Free T labs over the last year. I did just get a recent lab done with Quest using the correct methods (equilibrium dialysis) and this was the result: So maybe my Freet T isn't bad after all, or is the value above of 112.2...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I really appreciate the feedback. As I mentioned above, my only lab issue is lower range Free T and higher range SHGB. Total T and other labs are good. Taking a PDE5 inhibitor does assist in restoring my morning erections, but I never had to take that before and want to address the underlying...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I'm almost 43 and my morning erections have mostly disappeared starting when I was 41. I am healthy and fit. Sexual function is 70% of what is was 3 years ago, but it is still fine. I'm not on TRT. My labs all come back good, 600-800 Total T, good thryoid, etc. The only exceptions are high but...

The Men Who Age Without Erection/Sexual Issues

My urologist said about 10% of men never experience problems with erections, even through their 70s and 80s. He said they say, "my erections are as hard as ever". Is anyone aware of data collected on these 10% of men who don't seem to have issues in their older years? Why do they succeed when...

Freeing Up Testosterone with Average T Levels and/or Higher SHBG

In addition to Boron, Nettle is said to be helpful. Nettle doesn't lower SHBG like Boron can, but instead binds to SHBG which supposedly increases Free T somewhat. I think some people respond well to it, but others don't.

Very interesting! Thank you again for the excellent feedback on these questions, it's extremely helpful!

Freeing Up Testosterone with Average T Levels and/or Higher SHBG

I have one last question about the idea of the body choosing a Free T level to target, and Free T being the constant in the equation with Total T and SHBG being the variables. How would TRT be successful in raising Free T then? With the increase in T, wouldn't the body just increase SHBG to...

Free T is important, what about Free DHT and Free Estradiol?

It is very interesting to see the limitations on certain testing. Lots of great information in that other thread too, I am still reading through it all before replying :)

    Choose Quest or Labcorp?

Thank you for the feedback, so in regards to accuracy of testing the sex hormones (T, Free T, Estradiol, DHT, etc), Quest is as accurate as Labcorp and Labcorp is as accurate as Quest? Also, I have read a few places that people like Labcorp's Free T reference range more than Quest's - are...

    Choose Quest or Labcorp?

This last year I have had my labs done by Interpath, Quest, and Labcorp, basically I used whatever lab the doctor's office used. Going foward I am going to select and stick with the same lab so that comparing my historical results is more consistent. Discounted Labs doesn't cover my state...

Free T is important, what about Free DHT and Free Estradiol?

When you say "if they proved to be accurate" do you mean these tests are not accurate, or they are accurate but just expensive? Also, for Estradiol, would you rather have an Estradiol Sensitive or Estradiol Free lab done or both? Are you aware of any Estradiol Free Sensitive lab? Thanks!

Freeing Up Testosterone with Average T Levels and/or Higher SHBG

Yes this is the question I should have asked! Is there an answer to that question for my situation? I have no health problems, fit, 13% body fat, sleep well, eat well, no drugs, no smoking, no alcohol, no porn, no cardiovascular problems, Total T range of 600-800, normal T to DHT and E2...

Freeing Up Testosterone with Average T Levels and/or Higher SHBG

For those of us with average T levels and/or higher SHBG, our bodies are producing enough T, they just aren't using what's there because it is being bound by SHBG and isn't bioavailable. Why hasn't the pharmaceutical industry focused on producing medications that control (increase/decrease)...

Free T is important, what about Free DHT and Free Estradiol?

Wikipedia says, "The relative binding affinity of various sex steroids for SHBG is dihydrotestosterone (DHT) > testosterone > androstenediol > estradiol > estrone. DHT binds to SHBG with about 5 times the affinity of testosterone and about 20 times the affinity of estradiol." Why aren't there...

    Diminished erections in early 40s

I really appreciate the feedback. I am going to continue working on all the non-TRT things I can do to boost my Total T, Free T and lower my SHBG. I'll post some future labs here as well using the correct methods along with reference ranges. I am going to look into further testing to see if I...

    Diminished erections in early 40s

I am going to retest Free T and SHBG regularly using the same lab going forward with the Equilibrium Dialysis method for Free T. I agree and want to investigate and exhaust all options before doing anything. If there are any other tests or things to check that I haven't, please let me know!

    Diminished erections in early 40s

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback on the Free T levels and SHBG. I wish my SHBG wasn't as high as it is and wish I had labs from when I was 35 and 30 to compare how things have changed. I have had a lot of labs done in the last year, but didn't have the ability until recently when I switched...

    Diminished erections in early 40s

Thanks for that feedback, very helpful! It feels better to know we are all in the same boat eventually, I'm just surprised my boat arrived earlier than I expected given my health! I have a medical grade blood pressure machine at home to measure it reguarly, and it always comes back normal, like...

    Diminished erections in early 40s

At age 43 my body's sexual condition is not quite as good as when I was 25 or 30, but everything still works fine when I have sex. However, I hardly ever have morning erections anymore, I used to have them every morning. My nocturnal erections are generally ok, but also sometimes weaker than...
