Mildly Elevated Serum Anion Gap - why?

I made some progress on this and am updating the thread. My diet is pretty clean with lots of vegetables and a medium amount of protein. The vegetables are alkaline and the protein is acidic. I also drink a large amount of Coffee (very acidic) and distilled water (slightly acidic). I obtained...

Testosterone Replacement Enhances the Effects of Metformin on Lipids and Inflammation

Interesting that T+Metformin reduces homocysteine. I had read that Metformin worsens (increases) homocysteine when used alone.

    Metformin and Testosterone

FYI: My Dr. recommends LEF's AMPK Activator supplement for those that cannot tolerate Metformin. I am not on either so can't comment, but might be another option to look into.

Low Thyroid T4 on TRT Therapy

Maybe. It'd be easy enough to cook it and keep the amount lower or eat a non-goitrogen instead. I used to eat a ton of broccoli. Not anymore.

Low Carb and ED - Connection?

Two hypotheses: 1. Carbs support serotonin and perhaps serotonin would support erectile function. I have been very LC for a long time and just switched back to eating ~100g carbs per day. My mood, energy, body temp, etc. is better. ED was not a problem before and isn't better now. 2...

Mildly Elevated Serum Anion Gap - why?

I'm hoping someone else has run into this... Background: Anion Gap (AG) is calculated. A high value indicates acidosis. It is sometimes reported when you order a CMP, if not, it is easily calculated using the Sodium, Chloride and CO2 from the CMP with the following formula: AG=NA -...

What Every Man Should Know About Prostatitis

Be careful on Cipro and Levaquin and other fluoroquinolones. The side effect profile should not be dismissed casually. I had a friend take Levaquin and she had horrendous joint issues, low energy, etc. for many weeks after stopping. For some people sides may persist indefinitely.. IANAD - but...

Receding Hairline - Effect of Topical Treatment?

I have heard that the topicals do not work for a receding hairline, just for hairloss in the typical top/back of skull. Anyone know of success fighting the receding hairline? Thanks, Mark

Nelson Vergel 's New Lab Test Graph Site : MyHealthGraphs.com

Looks cool :-) I played a little, two issues so far: 1. Bilirubin is spelled wrong, Estradiol has a 9 instead of a ( 2. I logged in as guest and entered numbers for ferritin and DHT for two test dates. Then I made a graph for both. So far so good. Then I unchecked one of them and clicked...

    Just throw needles away?

This works great for insulin syringes. Very easy and seems very safe. It seems like it must hold a zillion needle tips as I have yet to fill one up.

    Still having problems mixing HCG

Here's what I did the last time: I'm using 5.5 ml of water. I turned the HCG vial upside down and inserted the syringe. The idea of upside down was that I would not be squirting right on the HCG. The vial had vacuum and without me having to push on the plunger, about half of the water...

    Hematocrit and Hydration.

My own experience: I used to have my blood tested only AM. Before going to the draw, I would drink lots of water (and coffee) to ensure I was properly hydrated -- at least that's what I thought. I would be peeing clear, but I don't think I was really hydrated. One day I ran the test later in...

Help Me Interview Urologist Dr Michael Rotman About Prostate Issues

Please talk about the role of Estradiol in BPH and prostate cancer. Standard of care seems to be witholding TRT for prostate cancer patients. Do you think this is supported by current evidence?

Help Me Interview Urologist Dr Michael Rotman About Prostate Issues

Has the Dr. had any experience with supplements to manage DHT? Has he seen clinical results (i.e. improved BPH, less hair loss)? Has he seen serum DHT improve with any supplements?

HCG Mixing Needle, Sterility, discard after 1 month?

Thanks, this makes sense. I think my vial had a vacuum, but then I pressurized it when adding the 5.5ml of water. I'll use your methods next time. Thanks again!

HCG Mixing Needle, Sterility, discard after 1 month?

Hi, I just started HCG. I have been on T-Cyp for years. The kit came with an 18G needle for mixing the water into the powder. This is a big needle and made a big hole in the rubber stopper. Maybe even bigger as I was pointing the water at the side of the vial. Today I did my second...

    Hematocrit monitoring at home?

There are at-home test machines. If you search Amazon for Hemoblobin Monitor you can see them. I used to have one of these (but not the brand currently on Amazon). I found it to be unreliable -- which is dangerous. I'd be curious if someone else buys one of these and confirms it to be reliable...

    Does hcg lower e2?

My sensitive E2 tests from Labcorp over the last few months have also been illogically low. I am on 1/2cc twice per week and my latest was trough 8.4 and peak 10.3 after being off AI for 5 weeks. I'm not going to hijack your thread, just pointing out that if more people have very low E2...

Got my estradiol results back now what?

If your results are at trough before a weekly T-shot, then that is probably the E2 trough as well. The E2 is probably higher at T peak. My Doc says that E2 is pretty stable across the week but testing on me has not shown that to be the case... Splitting the T shot should result in lower peak T...

    Just Started Defy protocol

Question: Why EPA only and no DHA? Comment: On E2 - You should be retesting after x weeks on the new protocol. IMO, those results and how you feel should guide the Dr. on whether the AI is needed. Then repeat testing would dial in what dose is right for you. Edit: Not sure how I missed...

    Managing Polycythemia by reducing DHT

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. Last time I was tested my Total T was ~1200 at trough. Free T was ">50" - or double top of range, but I think this may have been an error as it has previously been closer to top of range. Of course, peak would again be higher. I should think about dropping...

    Managing Polycythemia by reducing DHT

Hi All, First post, hopefully a good one. I've read the main thread on managing Polycythemia (elevated HGB/HCT) caused by TRT. One post in there by Nelson references a correlation between elevated DHT and Polycythemia. (link removed as I don't have 4 posts yet) I am on 100mg T-Cypionate...
