With a lot of things, society will sometimes go from one extreme to the far opposite extreme. Neither is right, as few things are absolutes. Eventually, we settle in the middle.
I'd think TRT can help a mood disorder if a hormone imbalance is making your symptoms worse, assuming the dose/scheduling is correct. But it's doubtful imo that bipolar can be treated by TRT alone and probably won't do what good mood stabilizers, like lithium can do.
You give a guy who's...
I've found with TRT (100 mg weekly), I don't need as many sets to achieve the goal, when compared to not taking T. But can't comment on the level to optimize recovery or the benefits of RPT. Seems I would do the opposite of RPT.
What paulgonzales86 says is spot on for me too. I prefer early AM workouts since I seem to lose fat easier in the mornings. Strength is far better late afternoon / early evening, but I'm not as interested in putting on a ton of muscle, as I am getting the endorphins going early am, which lasts...
I've always believed AI is not a bad thing, but the abuse of it is. Too many doctors who grossly overprescribe it and guys who simply don't know any better and are trusting the doctors to guide them in the right direction. For the right guy, it can be a very important part of their program.
My first experience with Melatonin was 5 mg, had a deep 12 hour sleep and felt groggy the next day.
.5 -.75 mg fills that gap I get when I wake up in middle of the night.
I cut the 3 mg in half twice to get .75 mg. You can get it in different mg obviously. Based on what you've shared above, start with a low dose and work up if needed. Like with most things, be patient.
cigpk - I had the same challenge you have. After starting TRT, my sleep would suffer. I fall asleep easy but wake up a couple hours later, and stay awake 2 - 3 hours before crashing hard for 3 hours when I have to wake-up. I'm a "low dose everything" kind of guy. I just seem to get my ideal...
I feel like garbage when my E2 is even marginally high, regardless how high my TT & FT get. I take 1/8th mg AI twice weekly, which brings my E2 down to the mid-teens. Relief! I haven't had much success with the notion that E2 is best when within a certain percentage of your T. I try to match my...
The rest is, 50 mg cypionate twice weekly. No other ancillary TRT meds. I'll likely go to 40 mg every 3 days soon. This will be the same 4 week dose, but split between 10 injections vs. 8...over a 4 week period.
5 years on TRT and have patiently tried several different protocols, always adjusting 1 thing at a time and waiting 5 - 6 weeks before judging the way I feel and bloodwork. I always feel best when my E2 is at a range that the "broh, dude" crew would say is low. I have low SHBG and do best when...
DHEA was the worst ancillary TRT med/drug I've taken. Started with 25 ultra micronized mg's cut to 12, then to 6 then to 3, and finally stopped altogether. It helped with sleep, but the increase in anger was no good. Tested baseline, but was not on it long enough to test after 4 - 6 weeks.
The challenge for most guys is learning those signals can be decreased by increasing the number of your weekly injections. Seems a select few are able (willing is probably a better word) to poke daily, but 15 mg daily beats a once weekly injection of 105 mg for most guys. Especially low SHBG guys.
I took Nelson's advice a couple years ago and cut back on the porn. It's made a difference in both my libido and quality of erections. There's a heavy poster here who would get pissed at the notion that porn could possibly affect libido/erections, proudly boasting that he watches a ton of...
I've been on trt for about 5 years and need to get Labs again. Don't have the reference range but it's always with LabCorp. Around 500 total and 21 free, I keep E2 pretty low and my SHBG it's probably around 15. I'm extremely sensitive to estrogen and had gynecomastia surgery many years ago to...
I too have had an occasional dull ache in both the area of my gallbladder and spleen. I went in for an ultrasound and discovered that I have both an enlarged liver and an enlarged spleen. Neither are crazy large, and they're not painful, but occasionally I'll feel dull ache. Nothing significant...
Bernie - If you're teaching a nationally recognized ultrasound course, you know your stuff. Last blood work was about a month ago. Enzymes normal per LabCorp, and consistent with what I typically see. Makes sene that the measurement would possibly be subject to Sonographers error.
CoastWatcher...
Had several ultrasounds because of gallstones so they've got several measurements of my liver and it is what they called slightly larger. Doc does not know so I have an appointment with a specialist soon. Did not say anything about fatty liver. Haven't had alcohol jn 20 years. I like the idea...
That's what Ive read, but I haven't had alcohol in 20 years, and had a fairly recent PET scan when Oncology released me for being cancer free for 5 years. Never had heart problems, and blood work looking for infection in the body always comes back clean. I'm stumped right now. I've got an...
Hey guys, feeling good, liver enzymes are well within normal LabCorp range and no different today than 5 years ago when I started TRT. However a minor discomfort in the right side of my abdomen (about 1 year ago), found gallstones in the neck of my gallbladder. I have no pain and slight...
