New here and frustrated...

I've been on TRT for approximately 3 years. After doing some reading, asked my doctor if he could incorporate HCG in my TRT protocol. That was a big fat no.

Went on the hunt for a new doctor that was more knowledgeable about TRT. That didn't go well at all.

Decided to go to Defy Medical for HCG support only to find out that they won't ship HCG to Louisiana.

Ended up having to go to an anti-aging clinic to get what I need and of course my insurance won't pick up a dime of it and it's hammering me pretty good.

On top of the cost, the doctor there says that 2,200iu's of HCG per week is standard dose in conjuction with Test injections. This is way off of everything that i've read so far.

Wishing I could find a Louisiana doc that knows what he's doing. On the hunt again, I guess.....

Rant over. Hi guys...

I wanted to go the Defy route, but as stated above, they won't ship to Louisiana. The laws on the books are in reference to HCG being used for weight loss, not HRT, but Defy still won't ship. Funny though, the pharmacy that the Anti-Aging doc uses is in Florida and they readily shipped HCG to me.... go figure.

Perhaps the malpractice legal community will some day realize that sterilizing TRT patients with T mono-therapy is malpractice. one of my docs has many pt's on T but refuses to educate himself on the issue. In other areas he's quite progressive.

Hypogondal Treatment and Management updated July 31, 2015

The authors state:
[" Males with nonfunctioning testicular tissue should undergo orchiectomy and replacement with prostheses."]

Honestly I did not search for such a thing. This bit of barbarism returned on a standard search for hypogonadic hypogonadism. Think twice before entering any medical practice without an armored jock.

Well now....that was helpful.....

I am in the Baton Rouge area as well. Anything new?????? I am in the same boat as you. What anti-aging clinic did you go to? I am not rich, but can't risk losing my nads, because I have to get off TRT for a few reasons. I need to get the guys back to size and working, ASAP. I can give you info to contact me offline. Let me know if you'd like to stay in touch and share experiences.

Rant over. Hi guys...

What I know:
-Dr. Neil Baum, a Urologist in New orleans, but he prescribes Clomid instead of HCG.
-Karen Dantin in B.R. does HCG and AI's with TRT but nobody's insurance covers her.
-I am trying Dr. Atkinson today, but no confirmation yet he uses hCG.

Another possibility.....

Dr. Richard D!ckey, who is a reproductive endocrinologist and the founder and director of the Fertility Institute of New Orleans and clinical professor and head of section of reproductive medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Dr. D!ckey uses the hCG hormone (Human Chronioic Gonadotropin hormone) to help couples struggling to have a baby. It's made in the placenta to sustain pregnancy. He gets it by prescription for injections that clearly state on the package insert that there is no benefit for weight loss.
.... probably not covered. Fertility is sticky with insurance.

* Had to put an ! for the name D!ckey. I wasn't writing D!ck. OK!

I am in Walker, LA. It's near Baton Rouge. I would "walk" anywhere within the borders of my state to get to a doctor who knows the score....

Why can't you just drive to Mississippi (closer than NOLA, isn't it?), and get a P.O. Box in the nearest city across the state border, and have your meds mailed there? I don't know if this meets Defy's criteria or not, or if it is considered legal in their eyes, but it's worth asking them. Lots of folks out there have more than one residence.

I too live in Southeastern Louisiana. I am thinking about finding a doc in Houston. Could I just get HCG filled in Texas before I leave the state? If I can find a doc in Mississippi, it would be much closer. I know 10 doctors in Houston that would prescribe HCG without a second thought. Maybe this is what I have to do.... Sad!

I am getting off of TRT due to complications and need to get my boys working and producing again ASAP.
