In a discussion with a guy from Alberta.
I have no clue on this subject, so I was wondering if any of you guys who are from Canada could post how you are getting TRT and from whom.
Trying to help out a guy on the ******** page.

Defy Medical TRT clinic doctor
I am in Ontario and I have a great PCP. He is open-minded and doesn't pretend to know everything. When I approached him with concern over my T levels, he said he wasn't really knowledgeable in that area so "lets do blood work and if you are low I will refer you to someone better equipped to help". I greatly appreciated his honesty. My T levels came back low on that blood work and subsequently twice more during my consultation with the specialist. My specialist has more experience with HRT for women but is knowledgeable and has several male patients as well. I have shared information form this forum, Nelson's book, Dr. Crisler's book with her and she seems to have learned a bit along the way as a result. She is not good with me being out of the reference range on my blood work but as long as I am in range (and she is fine with near top range) she will work with me on any of the compounds/protocols that we discuss here in this forum. HCG, T-Cyp, Arimidex, and IM or SQ. She also understands the importance of monitoring the other aspects of my results...Hematocrit, E2 etc.
Now I know I was lucky because, to the best of my knowledge there are no clinics like Defy in Canada but, at least from my experience, there was little reluctance to deal with my issues here. I don't know that this helps much to answer your question but at least its some anecdotal feedback.

Have been involved with androgen replacement for some time and have learned how to sort the intricate aspects of TRT here in Canada (I'm in Toronto but have some contacts in other parts of the country, including Alberta). Have him either post of message me and I'll be happy to help him out.

Sean the only information I have is for the doctor I see in Ontario which is a 4 hour flight from Alberta. She has no affiliates she works with. Luckily it sounds like Coastwatcher has some information. I was only trying to reassure that i experienced much less reluctance in Canada than many members here have experienced.

Being from Canada and having just gone through the process of finding a TRT provider. The largest National TRT network is TruBalance based out of Hamilton, Ontario but they do have doctors in Alberta or can do teleconference referrals. Pricey but you get what you pay for - a top shelf provider that is specializing in HRT / TRT.

Otherwise, it is through PCP or Urologist.

The Koffler Centre at Mt. Sinai in downtown Toronto has a dedicated team of endocrinologists and urologists that have a solid, if unspectacular, reputation. TruBalance is certainly reasonable if you look beyond the bio-identical hormone dance that they engage in.

Good to know about the Koffler Centre.

TruBalance has a TRT aspect aside from the bio-identical route according to the contact I spoke with. They seem to be trying to take a Defy Medical approach for getting TRT patients. Was seriously considering them as an option but my insurance told me I had to exhaust regular medical channels first if I was seeking reimbursement for cost.

Thanks CC. I live in Ancaster where the clinic is and had not found them during my searches? I believe the bio-identical term means a lot more when referring to women's HRT. The Women's Health Initiative study used synthetic progesterone (Progestin) and horse estrogens in their "replacement" and the woman had so many issues that it was stopped. That however can hardly be considered replacement and is really just substitution, but it still served to give HRT a bad name.

What do people do with their left over t? My doctor switched me from Axrion to Natesto and I have a 9 month supply of Axrion un-used?

Throw it out a 9 month supply of axrion is of no benefit, not like someone cruises on trt dose than blasts with axrion!

Hi Coastwatcher, I tried to send you a PM but it does not let me message you. I am from Toronto and would appreciate some guidance. Thank you!
